can i use MH for blooming??

Of course....and your plant will still grow full and healthy provided all your conditions are being met. Grow lights are designed to produce the type of light a plant needs to grow. Of course, for the best possible light plants use HPS for blooming but metal halide will work just fine. Many...

Who uses the CANNA Nutrient line?

There are a lot of great product lines out there. As long as your plants are getting the right nutrients then who cares? It's nearly all marketing. For those that say "I only use X brand" are limited in there experience with other nutrients. I wonder...is I-70 the best interstate to head...

switched to 12/12 when to expect bed devlopment??

What's the definition of a bud? The very beginning of bud formation doesn't look like a bud, but instead, it looks like a compaction of normal new leaves starting. In this case, they don't grow into single leaves...they form a bud that we're all familiar with. Depending on genetics (i am not...

    150 watt hps light question

Happy New Year, Mad Max! I'm not sure I really understand your question. Are you talking different brands or what? A 150w HPS bulb is a 150w HPS bulb. The differences might be how many par watts they produce, heat, longevity, etc. Here is an article I wrote for this forum. When you want a...

    Chicken or the egg??

Switching formulas is not a black and white situation....Plants still need N during flowering. It's not like, "Oh. Today I am going to switch to 12/12. Better stop with the N and bring in the P". I know I've said this on posts before but I'll say it again as a basic rule of thumb: -High N...

One nutrient solution for entire crop cycle?

I just wanted to add something here. If you do not use nitrogen during flowering you're plants will have serious health issues. Many new growers think N = Veg only. This is not true. Secondly, plants don't grow buds during 12/12 because of P. P only improves the results of flowing...

    Not sure about using humidifier

In direct answer to your question, I have never experienced a bulb breaking because of humidity. News to me. :-) If a bulb is super hot and water comes in contact I can see the concern...but humidity at a level optimal to a plant? Haven't seen/heard of it. I guess my question would...

    Needing some advice

There are only a few conditions that have to be met in order to get plants to flower...maturity and darkness....that's pretty much it (of course, I'm not including the obvious....water, food, oxygen, etc.) The problem with "go in the grow area" is the setup might not be a room....but rather a...

Change the font? To what? :-) Hydro vs soil? Kinda easy. Maybe I'll talk about the forgiveness of soil vs hydro...the amount of energy used allowing the hydro system to grow faster and more abundant....the types of soil setups vs hydro??? The article only needs to be 400 words. If there...

Does the Cold Affect the Plant

Depending on what publication you read and what person you talk to, you'll find that most say the tempurature should be between 74-76 degrees, ideally. Of course, plants can take much more heat/cold than that and still grow but it won't be optimally. With that said, plants can be brought...

I am an article writer for EzineArticles.com. They are having their their 100 Article Challenge starting January 1 and I've decided to take on that challenge. With that said, the 400 word (or more) articles I write will be posted on rollitup.org for educational purposes. My question is...

    18/6 to 12/12

There is no right or wrong to this question. Many people decide based on their set up. With that said, you can switch to 12/12 too soon. It won't harm your plant but it will not start actually flowering until the plant is mature enough. Once it's matured then you can put it into 12/12...

Does the Cold Affect the Plant

Sure does. Unless you get your temp under control you might be better off drawing a picture of your plant and smoking the paper. Has it turned purple yet? :-)

    leaf problem? please help

Typically if your plant is overwatered it will look droopy or lethargic. If it otherwise looks healthy then it's probably not a overwatering problem. Anytime there is yellow on the leaves instead of green I automatically think there is not enough nitrogen in the feeding. I understand your...

No signs of roots after 8 days in EZ Cloner

Cuttings take time to root. The fastest I've seen roots grow was seven days. Cuttings need water, oxygen, humidity (100% for the first couple of days) all within specific ranges. If your cuttings are not rooting after a while then one of the conditions (or more than one) are not being met...
