Haven't seen any. All the horticultural bulbs seem to start at the 400W range.
HPS can cause a bit of stretching in veg (though I never had any)
Roll with it, you will do fine.

Happy New Year, Mad Max!

I'm not sure I really understand your question. Are you talking different brands or what? A 150w HPS bulb is a 150w HPS bulb. The differences might be how many par watts they produce, heat, longevity, etc. Here is an article I wrote for this forum.

When you want a bulb to grow your plants faster you have to take into consideration how much the plant can process at any given time. You could use a higher watt bulb but then you have to place the light farther away (because of heat) which, in turn, produces less usable light for your plant. Without being technical and all that, it comes down to math.

Secondly, in order for a light to make a plant grow faster, ALL of your other conditions have to be optimal. For example, if you have a light that will grow your plants faster but you've overwatered your plant, the light won't do a bit of good. In other words, you just wasted money on a 'better' light because a better light won't overcome overwatering. If your nutrition isn't optimal, what good does a better light have? I think you get the idea.

I'm curious...is your bulb an Ultra Sun? They are very new, claim to be up to par with more expensive lights and cost less than $20. Just curious.
