the republicans must reinvent or go extinct

Bucky,
Nope. In four years the Republican party will embrace the rainbow and Chris Christie will make the whole country bend over. I'm gonna laugh so hard. Enjoy.

Still, age is just a number stating how long one has been around. If your mind is sharp, why not use it?
81 years old would mean 85 at the end of term 1 (if elected). There is no guaranty no matter the condition at the start of the term that you would be the same in those 4 years. Age is a number until you hit that age. Unfortunately, we don't yet have a cure for alzheimer's.

The RNC, you need to take a close look at their platform. This election should have been a slam dunk. Obama really did not do a great job and he still won. The deciding factor may very well have been the Latin American vote which is growing fast and not very RNC friendly. If the RNC, does not move closer to the moderate center you may never get the White House back. There are not enough fat white middle aged Americans, of which I am one, to carry the elections. The RNC is not women friendly, minority friendly, alternative life style friendly, the have alienated too many groups. The need to stop preaching bibles, bullets and babies, tea party super conservatives scare most Americans. I typically lean right when voting, but Romney was a little too Used Car Salesman and Ryan was right wing fanatical. At least Bronco Bama was friendly and seemed to care about people. Hell he can't screw the economy up any worse than it is. Granted he did not fix it in his 4 years, but it took the Republicans 8 years to screw it up. If the RNC does not change I fear we will have a DNC in office for a long time.

I agree Romney was, but the RNC and Ryan are not. Romney changed his focus and was spouting the RNC company line and that did him in. The RNC belived he needed to be more conservative to make up for the fact that he was Mormon...

There is nothing that Romney or Ryan said during this campaign that could give you that indication. They both dodged the questions on abortion and other social conservative issues. They only talked about economic conservatism and even there they only advocate baseline budget cuts. That's not even close to conservative IMO.

so, how exactly does the GOP reinvent themselves?

the white vote goes down every election by 4-5%, that's why florida is obama territory again this time.

so, what CAN they do?
