Both are excellent ways to farm.....maybe lst'ing takes a little more patience and time.

When you super crop you want to stay a little higher but not at the very top IMO.Say 1/3 from the top..Pinch between your finger and thumb then bend.Also a reason for staying a little higher is when you supercrop it will create a lot of weight/bud....if its too low you will have to hang up a lot...

When in doubt flush it out.....Since its DWC I would flush with plain water and mix with water H2O2(Hydrogen Peroxide)you may have some root rot.Either way your plants will be fine if you do a little maintenance
