I was using a 600w mh/hps about 6inches away until i burnt my tops after i flipped, i ended up swithcing to 2- 90w leds and now i can keep em about an inch away with no problem and better results than my HIDs.

for under $200 you can buy a 90w led that will give you better results than a 400w halide, just sayin...

make the switch to a 90w led, they kicked ass over my 400w mh/hps.. there no joke a decent 90w runs under $200, but they are worth it.

cfl or hid?

multiple 27 watt bulbs will give you more lumens per watt, in my room i use 2 85w cfls and 8 27w cfls with 8 t8 tubes, my room is 2x3x6 so heat can be an issue but if you have the funds jam as many lights in there as possible, i have enough light that i dont have to worry about lst-ing my plants...

in my grow room (closet) i have over 40000 lumens of light, with a wide range of spectrum. if you are able to get that much light to the plant you wont ever have to worry about topping or stress training the plant because it will grow naturally bushy,the best thing about cfls is the low heat so...

point a fan at the hood and that will help some

get the light as close to the plant as possible, but honestly you are not gonna see great results with that much light. do you know what color temperature the bulb is?

start your clones half way through vege and you will have smaller plants ready to flower every 4 weeks, once you grow a nice crop it will last for a while..

if you dont want them to be bored turn the npr lol.

when it comes to ventilation bigger is better, looks like your doing good though.

you growin hydro or soil? adv works best in hydro. also advanced is really trendy shit, good, but alot of people think they are the end all be all, which they are not. just go to advanced nutrients site and you can find which does what.

def need more light that plant looks gangly, stack it on some bricks or somethin to get it closer to the light.
