Like veggiegardner said, you're gonna want to transplant to a bigger container. A good rule of thumb is a gallon of soil per foot of plant height, but more never hurt.

Those grass clippings will start to rot and produce heat. Mold will also grow inside the pile. If you're trying to conserve moisture I'd go with mulch instead.
