Ron Paul for... Vice President?

Dr Paul doesn't believe in special privileges and the government policing behavior because to often it is we who suffer. Sexual harassment is a great example of this..If no violence has taken place he doesn't believe its the governments job to get involved or to be the judge of that. This is up to the courts.

  • “Why don’t they quit once the so-called harassment starts?

violence isn't the only type of harm, and in this passage ronald clearly lets on to his "blame the victim" mentality.

indefensible.

Perhaps liberals just *think* the "deck is stacked" because they think so little of minorties?
no, i don't think the deck is stcked against minorities because i "think so little" of them.

i hold this belief due to empirical evidence. it is everywhere.

hell, they've done studies where people call for customer service or about a job application in a "white" voice and a "black" voice. guess who gets a better outcome?

the degree to which the deck is stacked has certainly receded, but is by no means gone in america as of today.

it's not debatable.

some people are born gay.

if you disagree, refute the various studies that show the certain genetic effect.
Refute the studies that debunk those studies. Nurture vs nature debate has not been settled. As I've said, it could be, as it does happen in other species but, in scientific terms, that's just called a deviation from the norm. I know you'll hate the term but homosexuality is nothing more than deviant sexual behavior.

Before anyone goes bat-shit crazy about the word deviant, it's an accurate term no matter whether you believe in evolution or creation so spare me the whining. If you're intellectually honest you know that I'm right. The Creation people will say that it's deviant based on teh word of God and that's true whether or not you believe that. The evolution people have to admit that it's deviant because that's the scientific word for it. While it's true that a number of species have a small number of homosexual deviations; the "norm" is heterosexual activity for obvious reasons.

The other types of harm are clearly defined as illegal even without sexual harassment laws. How about this? How about you just sexually harrased me because you hurt my feelings??!? Laws must clearly be defined. The government can not be trusted to do whats right and neither can corporations.

That sounds racist to me. What do you mean by a "black voice?" Ebonics, poor English, an accent? Do all black people sound the same to you? I guess that would depend on the business because I know businesses where a white person would have a hard time if they were speaking poor english too but the color of their skin means nothing to the business people I know.

I think you're proving my point better than yours. ;)

i'll have to look up the studies, but they used names as well as voices.

you are letting on to things you look for when discriminating between a black voice and a white voice. the study used attitudes like yours to determine how to proceed.

as someone who spent all of his professional career talking to people on the phone in various capacities, i have no problem telling you that i could fairly accurately tell you not only the race of the person i was talking to, but very small details about them. hell, if i spent long enough on a phone with someone, i could register a good guess as to what is in their pockets or what was on their desk, much less the color of their skin.

does that make me racist? barely. that makes me aware. most people have this awareness. clearly, you do too. you like to pretend that you are colorblind, but your naming of certain factors that would lead you to suspect that someone is black paints a much different story.

in any case, the deck is stacked. and for you to pretend that it is not by attempting to portray me as a racist for acknowledging reality is weak.

weak as fuck.

UB:

Do you believe the MLK dream: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

If you do then how can you support a system where special rules and programs are based on the color of their skin and not the content of their character? How does 2 inequalities make one equal? The problem is a fundamental difference in conservatism vs liberalism/socialism.

You would probably think I am black. People always think I am black on the phone.
i have often thought you were black based on your avatars for some reason.

my mind works in weird ways based on jobs i worked from age 16 until 25 or so. if i am talking to someone on the phone, i immediately start forming a mental picture of where they are sitting in the house, what they are wearing, what is sitting on their kitchen table or desk, what they have on their fridge, and other things.

it is a good trait to have when your business in mostly conducted via telephone. i have visited some of the shops i have caleld in the past and been astounded at the accuracy (and sometime inaccuracy) of my mental predictions.

false.

homosexuality is a perfectly normal variation of sexuality.

you should update you DSM, apparently you are using one that is about 40 years old.

Mine isn't a San Franciso, politically correct, and liberal approved version but the term is just as accuate now as it has alaways been. It's a deviant sexual behavior because it's a small statistical anomoly and it serves no biological purpose which is why we have genders (plural) for a reason. A male flower pollenates a female flower. That's just basic life and anything that deviates from that is, well, deviant. Again that is just a fact, no matter whether you believe in evolution or creation. It may be PC to call it "normal" but that doesn;t make it so.

I've never even speculated on what color anyone here is. To me it simply doesn't matter. I didn't even know there was such a thing as racism until about the 3rd or 4th grade. I just saw the other kids as somebody to play with.

i have a plant that goes hermaphrodite at the end of flower in hopes of pollenating itself, the poor plant has no idea that i have it cloned many times over.

hermaphrodite plants are not the norm, but they are not deviant either. hermaphrodite plants are a NORMAL VARIATION of plant sexuality, just as homosexuality is a normal variation of human sexuality.

congratulations on pointing out that racism is a learned activity.

anything else you care to educate us on? perhaps underwater basket weaving, and its relevance to absolutely nothing?

No, I was asking YOU what made a "black voice." I know what the racist stereoypical black voice is but that all that is. Stereotypical. So claiming that the black voice/name didn't get certain results is based on the color of their skin when it could be something else doesn't prove what you were trying to prove.

Is "barely a racist" somehow OK or did you mean "hardly?" Barely means "a little" and a little racist is still racist. You words not mine, I'm just asking if barely is the word you meant to use.

provide me some examples of such programs.

i am not in the business of mind reading.
You don't know of any programs where certain minorities (not just blacks) get special treatments? Or are you just playing stupid?

Seriously?

Of course they are deviant, because the plant contains both male and female flowers. It happens with some genetics more than others, but it's not normal. In fact it's a trait most growers try to avoid and often destroy plants that exhibit the trait. However, it's STILL a FACT that the male flower pollenates the female flower, even it's on the same plant. THAT is the norm.

Underwater basket weaving, while difficult, has some advantages depending on the materials used and the type of basket desired. Is your sarcasm relavant to anything other than your frustration from being so wrong tonight? :D
