Most Republican's don't think Gays should be able to marry in New York..Ron Paul thinks they should be able to..Ron Paul doesn't even think homosexuality is a sin, he says because they are born that way and god created them that way, he doesn't think they should be punished and he thinks they should be able to get married...he has homosexuals that work for him and many friends so really how is he anti-gay? Not from something he allegedy wrote in 1979...it doesn't undermine everything he has ever done for civil liberties...
Marriage is between a man and a woman, no need to redefine it so gay people get special rights. I'm all for civil unions that give gay people the same benefits as married people though.

Why? So that a union between a man and a woman can be viewed as more superior than between a man and a man (or woman and a woman)?

Not rationalization. I'm going off of the definition here. Just because it can often be the base for a growing intolerance towards homosexuals, does not make that bigotry. That is like saying because 65% of all robberies are committed after the use of marijuana that someone who smokes marijuana is, by consequence, a thief.

To further verify this: What if someone said "I am personally against homosexuality, but what you do is up to you." Would that still be bigotry in your mind?
that would be bigotry in thought but not action. but it is still bigotry.

you never answered my two questions: how is it wrong for someone to be born with a certain sexual orientation? how is it wrong for someone to choose a certain sexual orientation?

I disagree, a person can be against homosexuality without being homophobic. Are gay people heterophobic?
when did i ever say homophobic?

et me ask you the same questions: why are you against someone being born with a certain sexual orientation? why are you against someone choosing a certain sexual orientation?

how is being able to marry the person of your choice a "special right"?

since being able to marry the person of your choice is a "special right", why do we give it to heterosexuals? :dunce:

Dude. You're a stubborn one, my friend. :)

By definition to be a bigot you must be intolerant of a differing opinion. To say that you personally believe that being homosexual is not right, but that it's up to others what they want to do is by no means a demonstration of any kind of intolerance. In fact, it's total demonstration of tolerance in which completely disproves any accusations of being bigoted.

How can I answer when I don't think it's wrong at all?

You'll have to ask someone else who truly has that opinion.

So you basically agree with Ron Paul pretty much....Do you even understand Ron Paul's Philosophy? I don't think you do..You obviously don't understand libertarians. I encourage you to go read about this stuff and you might have a completely different opinion! Actually you would be surprised to learn that most American Citizens are libertarian to some degree, this is the beliefs we are brought up on.

That's the common lie when people don't support special rights for gays. I've seen no proof that anyone is born gay but I'm not against gay people, whether by choice or nature. People can be as gay (or straight) as they want.

No...a civil union should be as equal in benefits as a real marriage.
That may be the intent, but to call it something other than marriage is by default making it not marriage. Therefore, a homosexual still cannot get married so the law would still be unequal.
