i think socialism dissolves into caste systems, thats why i don't call myself a socialist or communist despite sharing many of its core ideas.

A socialist society has never really been tried. Stalinist communism yes, Marxist/Trotskyist Socialism No.

Caste system ... My only reference would be Hinduism in India. I can't see how this applies to socialism.

Living in Europe and watching the GOP nominee debates, I couldnt understand why R.Paul stood under a republican banner.

Does anyone agree he would have been better as an independent candidate ... Or was that not an option under the U.S system?

Also, no matter how hard I tried I could never find any candidates from smaller parties. Greens, socialists etc. ..... Do these guys ever get a chance to debate with the Big 2 in American politics?

And you always hear "America, the worlds most democratic nation", anyone agree with this?

watching CNN atm ... they just advertised Biden v Ryan on friday .... should be a laugh.

An independant has no chance in hell to win. If they cant get picked up by one of the two major parties, its hopeless.

How a person behaves towards his own family says a lot about who they are, and what type of president they will be. Vote Mitt Romeny. I'm one of those "actions speak louder than words" kind of people. So when I hear Obama say " you are your brother's keeper", and then he goes and shits on his brother George; it looks bad. Really bad.

Politically, the world never stands still. It always moves towards something. Europe is becoming more and more socialist as time goes on. It will either continue to get more and more socialist until it passes into communist or it will turn and move towards capitalism again. Look at France raising the top rate to 75%. Next will be income caps and business takeovers by the government to ensure price stability and everyone has equal access to products.

Most of Europe is swinging to the right, France just elected a Socialist president cos they've such a large cheese eater population now.

Yea we all agree pretty much, no the other parties don't get to debate or media coverage. The media is controlled by the corporations as are republicans and democrat, we are a fascist country.

All your great leftie thinkers all said socialism is purely a stepping stone to Communism. I then expressed my dislike for Communism using that whole free-speech thing.

If you don't want to admit you're a commie in disguise, that's fine, but don't get butthurt at me for pointing it out.

I have no problem with being called a "commie". In fact Ive been on many marches with the communist workers party. If you hadn't engaged me in such an ignorant manner I might have been willing to discuss further.

I just don't want to waste my time talking politics with somebody who uses language like that. Thats all.
