A new study produced by the Chronicle of Philanthropy shows that 14 out of the top 20 states in charitable giving are red, or Republican states, while 12 of the bottom 15 are blue, or Democrat states.
“The nation's sharp political divide can provide a clue to fundraisers,” writes The Chronicle. “The eight states that ranked highest in The Chronicle's analysis voted for John McCain in the last presidential contest while the seven lowest-ranking states supported Barack Obama.”
The study also found that the more religious states- which also happen to be more Republican- tend to give more than the less religious states.
But wait.
No, no, no: This can’t mean what we think it means.
It can’t mean that liberals are just cheaper than conservatives, despite outward appearances.
We need to cue the liberal social scientist whose job it is to explain to us that the results of the study don’t really say what they say.
Well of course. They dont want to give their own money, they want someone else to give their money. Usually they want someone else to give their money to them.

Umm read what I originally wrote, on post #38. I never brought up Obama, it was Freedom I was quoting who did. I bought up bother's keeper to highlight liberal philosophy, which I oppose. Freedom thought I wanted everyone to live like Obama's brother because of my nature comments. So I was being a smart ass like Cain.
Right, you didn't use our President's name. You were having a conversation about him and cited one of his most well known lines. It's called context. I'm not familiar with you and didn't know that you invoke biblical verses often in your writing. Taking a look at a few of your last few posts shows no proof that you do. So perhaps it was a missed understanding. But the bigger question that you have been dodging is whether or not you agree with what I said. Don't you agree that we should stand up for our civil rights as individuals and as a whole? Here's a reminder in case you over looked it every time I asked:

    • I think you have a fundamental misunderstand of what "you are your brothers keeper..." means.. What that quote refers to is- say my house gets searched without a warrant, or my peaceful rally in favor or legalizing marijuana use ends in arrest, or any other situation where my civil liberties are jeopardized- Its your job and everyone else s job to stick up for me and stop my rights from being infringed... Why??? So that it doesn't happen to you! When my civil liberties are infringed upon, so are yours. If they can to it to me, they can do it to you. Understand? I'm sure you would agree to that... Wouldn't you? It has nothing to do with "forcing lifestyles" or "giving help" as in welfare, just protecting what WE ALL are entitled too."

Do you agree with standing up for one another's civil liberties? I'd really appreciate hearing your feeling about this....

      ...........

Obama wants to take credit for bailing out Chrysler, but 55% of the company is owned by Fiat. So isn't that like bailing out Italy?
Since most of Chrysler's manufacturing and production takes place in America, No. He was bailing out the American workers, and rightfully so. But besides keeping Americans employed, it also props up the other stores and shops in the town where the plants are, even if they aren't connected to the supply lines or retail outlets. And it also props up the suppliers and retailers all across America. And the towns they are in, round and round it goes. Its economics 101. Also, while Fiat is based in Italy, its largely a multinational corporation. So to say its bailing out Italy is grossly misleading. It's the American workers in the auto industry that we "bailed out".

You're a fucking idiot. And what you just posted goes way beyond misleading. Liberals like to pull out half truths from the stories you like, while ignoring key important details. And you're about 2 days late on the reply. Was that just enough time for you to gather up some liberal talking points?

Perhaps I am late... But that's because I just returned to this forum. Check my posts. All my activity has been in the last hour or so, and before that? Like two days ago. So yes I just "signed on". So that explains the timing. But regardless of time, please enlighten me. If my posts seems like I was looking up facts then:

#1. They would be facts... And I know they are stubborn. #2. Everything I said was very generalized facts about economics. #3. It seems as though you think I looked up facts or talking points- That proves you know nothing about economics because they are VERY GENERAL concepts of economics. Nothing needed to look up to fact check those if you knew the slightest idea of how an economy works. #4. Calling me a f*cking idiot seems as though you are mad because I just corrected you. And by the way you are acting, you would think I destroyed you. I was just correcting you, not calling you a "fuc*ing idiot" so chill. Lets have a constructive conversation. Don't be scared, they don't bite. And if you're wrong, gues what? You learned! At the very least you saw another point of view. #5. What do you mean "Liberal talking points"?? You must mean my facts right?.... but most importantly #6:

PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME ..... TELL ME ONE "HALF-TRUTH", "STORIES" OR "IMPORTANT DETAILS" THAT ARE MISLEADING ABOUT WHAT I SAID! I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE NAME CALLING. IF YOU ARE WRONG YOUR WRONG. LETS GET CONSTRUCTIVE AND LEARN FROM ONE ANOTHER!!! DON'T ACT LIKE A BABY! LETS GET SPECIFIC:

NOW PLEASE TELL EVERYONE WHERE I WAS "BEYOND MISLEADING".

Oh and by the way Freedomworks, I'm going to dinner now, So even if I don't get to check the forum tonight, tomorrow or the day after- guess what? You're still wrong and I'll be sure to point that out for the users here at RIU. Because spreading false and misleading statements does nothing for anybody here except for misinforming people, and I'm sure most people here are to learn and share ideas and truths.

Misleading. Besides the obvious American workers working for a once American company; now working to create wealth in Italy. Thats why I have to call you names. You're a fucking idiot. You support the downsize of America, and then try to make it look all rosy. And thats just the surface. You're fake. Disingenuous, and you go way beyond misleading. We'll do you one better. I will start a whole new thread about it, just for you idiot. But don't post anything, because of your low IQ . Just let other people explain it to you, so that maybe one day it will start to sink in slowly. Then we can go over all the money and jobs that Obamas outsourcing.

#1 You're not a liberal social scientist #2 You are a fucking idiot #3 From what I've seen, having a constructive conversation on the facts is the last thing liberals want to do. #3 You have no clue how wealth is created

but saying you're liberal or conservative or whatever isn't a bad thing! It's a set of beliefs!
It's all in how you define it.
There was a thread a few weeks ago where a real discussion about definitions almost broke out.

btw: Libertarian
