no sorry i like my knees, my squat stops when my legs are at 90 degrees any further with decent weight and your askin to blow out a knee

Hey countryboy.. there is this great book called "Starting Strength" written by Mark Rippetoe

He goes into serious detail regarding KNEE injuries and squats.. he says the biggest misconception is that going below 90 degrees causes injury... he says that below 90 degrees, the squat starts to use HAM and GLUTE and at and above 90 degrees it is QUAD.... when the HAM and the GLUTE are not activated it causes "knee shear"...

He writes about 60 pages on proper squatting.. worth reading.. he is considered one of, if not the formost authority on squats...

Doctors and physical therapists have causes this runmor about squatas and knee damage.. because of the massive amount of people that come see them... and were doing the squats wrong...

All of the top athletes and power lifters in the world go below 90 degrees..

ANYWAY.. you are strong as fook... keep up the hard work!

much love

Yes I have to agree that you need to really read up about doing weight lifting properly or there is an uncreased risk of injury. I obviously was doing my swats wrong. I think that is where stretches also come in play. A lot of people don't stretch their muscles enough and that causes many injuries.

I noticed you do yoga. Yoga is great for stretching and mindfulness but there are not too many men who are willing to try it.
Its not like you gotta wear those tights or anything.

I get lazy sometime, and I get chubby. I need to get serious about getting in shape before it becomes a problem,

Cool thread.
I love to take a few rips and go on a bike ride or hit the gym.
Its to the point when I smoke a bowl, I have the urge to do something.
I can't sit around, unless its late in the day.

I'm a Fitness Trainer, as one of my PT jobs.
Creatine isn't that bad for you, really. Hurts your wallet more than anything.

I drink protein shakes. I cycle on HMB, CLA, Creatine , and a few Chinese herbs.
Never steroids or anything.

I would like to start running more.

thats an impressive deadlift! i dont give props to people unless its really diserved and thats one hell of a kudos from me!

im not worried about perfecting my squat now cause im not doing those kinds of lifts anymore my pride is stronger then my muscle and i will end up really hurting my self badly! so i will stick to only strengthening (sp?) my muscle and not worry about showing off anymore i have nothing to prove cause i done did over and over! lol

Hey country boy... over at the pit where john hackleman trains his PIT GUYS.. they have these 130lb body bags... they are bad ass bags.. the guys carry them around and throw them around... it is an insane work out... they are in the shape of a body... head is missing and the legs don't go below the knees...

I personally use a d-ball - 16lb, 40lb and 60lb...

They are yellow balls filled with iron fillings.... I slam them on the gorund and catch them on the first bounce,., they only bounce about 1/2 inch and then I explode straight up until the ball is directly overhead (arms fully extended) and then I smash it to the ground again... I do this tabata style... 20 seconds ON.. 10 second rest... 8 rounds....

NEARLY puke almost every time.... great cardio and muscle explosion workout... :) crazy intensity..... just what you need for a fight :)

cheers
