The best thing that could happen to America is for the right to split into two parties or factions under the republican banner based on regionalism. The needs of those in blue and swing states conflict with those circus performers from the ruby red districts. Many of the fuckers depend on older swing voters and the republican's brand is trash among the younger generations.

Pull a hat trick once and you could have a voter registration checkbox on your income tax form and vote by mail nationally. Things like that HR-1, voting rights and new states could tip the balance significantly. The potential and potency of problem solving is much greater than their actual ability to cause them or hinder progress over the long term.

First, the states handle the vote, not feds. This is written into the constitution and would require an amendment to change. As you know some states want access to the ballot box be widely available and easy to cast the vote, others not so much. So, no. what you said is a non-starter.

Second, Proud Boys are a gang that is funded by right wingers who agree with them and there are a lot of those people in the country right now. Has nothing to do with elections or swing districts. They are given tickets to fly in and fight. The Proud Boys who beat people during protests in Portland came from all over the country. Republican Party could cease to exist and they would still be coming here as long as they are paid to do so.

Proud Boys will be broken after their leaders are convicted under RICO and the feds rain down hell on them. That is, IF the FBI rains down hell on them. I don't know yet where the FBI stands.
