Here is a guy on twitter daily with concerns about "wokeness". I think someone needs to pin these people down on what exactly they mean by "wokeness", seems the opposite of callus and hateful to me. Seems pretty intolerant of other people's way of being and life choices, of trying to silence them and kill off compassion. Even if the falseness they accuse the "woke" of, is more aspirational than real, it at least means they are moving in the right direction.
Of all the trouble and concerns in this world an obsession about "wokeness" is just a smoke screen for something else, pathological hatred or cynical manipulation of the bigoted and weak minded. Wokeness is another word like liberal used to describe an "other", a cultural enemy of your "tribe". Liberal means free and woke means compassionate, but to many they mean something else.

i can't concentrate on youtube videos at the moment, the little "election 2020" box that pops up in the top left is about to make me have a fucking psychotic break...they're going to have to stop that before i'll look at any political videos again, it really motherfucking annoys me

After Georgia, it will all be Donald's doing, then J6 and the circus awaiting in the GOP house with Jack sniffing at the magats heels over J6 and them being subpoenaed by grand juries, at least in the beginning. Mitch is trying to put lipstick on the pig already and he has more problems than Trump, but Jack might help him solve some of them, at a cost though. There are moderate republican in the house who only won by a few thousand votes and will be concerned about running in 2024. They can ally temporarily with democrats more easily than the nut cases who can't and a half dozen from either end of the spectrum has McCarthy by the balls.
Votes on many things like abortion and funding Ukraine, won't be along party lines and neither will things like impeaching Biden for fuck all and endless investigations that go nowhere in the house. There will be other investigations going on by Jack that will make a far bigger splash in 2023 and 2024. Even if they investigated Hunter's laptop, there will be lots in the news to crowd it out, except on foxnews, where it will be covered with enough spin to drive it into the ground. 20203 promises to be a big year in court and what we've been seeing lately is just a preview of coming attractions, get popcorn.

Change the law, they should be looking at mandatory minimum federal sentences and criminal records. Protecting democracy should have a higher priority in criminal law and these kinds of crimes need to be taken more seriously.
The panels aren't going away because we had a person that told people up was down, and those people believed without question. They live in bubbles of their own creation..this is a societal attempt at righting the ship.

The magat wing of the republican party appears to be shrinking in influence IMHO and when Trump is indicted it will shrink even more, many of their leading voices will be silenced, as the justice system continues to grind them down and squeeze the truth out. Donald is driven to even more extremes as the party establishment distances itself from him, like he's on fire and about to explode in a shit storm. Mitch and others know it's just a matter of days until Trump is indicted and possibly even remanded to custody until trial or at least muzzled by the judge. Meanwhile Donald is appealing to the most radical lunatics and racists in America, trying to drum up support for an eventual riot on the courthouse steps in DC I suppose.
Between Joe and Mitch, they will appeal to the center and cut off radical support on the fringes. Joe because it is good for the country to suppress these assholes and moderate politics. Mitch because it is good for the GOP and he knows they won't get near power if these lunatics take over his party. The republicans are at a demographic and ideological dead-end and it's change or die. They have been poisoned from within and their reputation is trash with a couple of generations of young American voters coming on stream every year. Each year 2 million old white voters die and are replaced by a new generation, one raised with the internet, different TV content, a more global view and new social norms.
Donald is feeling closer to his suckers, he will soon share their fate and will have a shared stressful experience with many of them. How much of his hoard of cash is he giving the J6 criminals for their legal defense? How about supporting their families through the hardship?

The chaos caucus will cause Kevin no end of headaches and most are on that pardon request made to Trump, his cronies and minions will be singing like birds to grand juries as Donald goes down in flames over the documents and obstruction. If they want to do something, they can put it on the line for him and personally lead a J6 style mob of lunatics up the DC courthouse steps, Donald will expect no less!
The moderates will have as much sway as the lunatics, and they can do bipartisan shit in the house that the radical assholes can't. Many republican house members only won by a few thousand votes and need all the leverage they can get for 2024 and that might mean not going to crazy town. For the rail strike, we have already 3 republicans break ranks, for Ukraine funding there will be even more. The chaos caucus will make it hard for Keven to govern, it is clear Mitch wants to put lipstick on the pig moving forward, however there is the problem of the base...

Who knows, maybe the whole GOP caucus will follow her to crazy town, but if they do, they will pay a price by showcasing only the "best people" they have to offer. Gym Jordan, her and other magats were on that pardon list as I recall, and jack is looking into J6 too. With kingpin Donald gone ahead of everybody, they will be the only ones for the WH staff and Donald's minions to sell out for a deal. They attended meetings at the WH and had meetings among themselves before the vote on J6, and after the insurrection too. That is conspiracy and their votes could be seen as in furtherance of it.
There are a lot of moving parts here, so expect the unexpected, some of these assholes are gonna be very worried about their criminal exposure over J6. That concern should grow as Donald goes down and everybody involved including them land before a grand jury.

I think you might be making the mistake of imbuing That Man with some causality. Imo he is an effect, and the chaos/psychosis caucus has held sway for a decade-plus. What I read as an appeal to reason, or at least common sense, does not align with recent history.
The biggest mistake moderate Republicans and centrists driven from the party can make now is to believe “oh good; things are gonna normalize”. Fascism is the GOP’s new normal, a fact they will try to resubmerge.
