People just don't realize what cash cropping did to cannabis.
I bought Colombian Red off a fishing boat in the late 80s.
I know this, because I knew the guys running the boat very well.
No one in my town knew it was Colombian Red.
It was just the best weed available.
To the guys selling it, it was what they grew back home.
To the guys on the boat, it was that ol' Blue Smoke, and they knew there was a market. Offer the right price and you can have it.
But the people didn't know they were smoking a sativa landrace.
So when the hybrids showed up with the crystals and the fat nugs, they HAD to be better, right? Cost more and got you real high, real quick. No seeds to trifle with.
But something was lost.
What was lost however, is not very far away.
I think it's serendipity that the recreational market has no use for a plant with a 16 week photoperiod.
As a decades long smoker, I cannot imagine why someone who grows cannabis would not grow a 100% sativa plant for themselves and closest.
Further, I question your sincerity if you have not already chosen which continent your chosen preference comes from.
