Ace seeds

Just popped a couple Zams and a couple Malawis. Just wanna make sure the time it takes these plants to mature is not included in the flower time right? So 4-7 weeks to sexual maturity and then 12-17 weeks of flower?

Malawi takes about 5 weeks indoor to mature. It flowers 10-13w. With leds, I found 12 weeks was good. The reason ace recommends flip to flower at day 15 from is to reduce the overall size. It gets big. I harvested approximately 16oz from 220w, 2 plants. She gets big. Stretch is average to above average.

Zam is a bit longer flowering.

thanks for the info! Since I got fems from multiverse I plan on sowing them straight into their final pot and then putting them in my flower tent, will that help keep the size down too much and hurt the yield? How did it smoke? Everything you’d hoped for?

Multiverse? I bought and grew ace seeds. If its from that strain, start solo cup, transplant to a little bigger 1 gal (3.76 liter), then into final. Top them and you are good. Scrog net? Coco? Soil?

Malawi plant.
Regular seed pack. Light is set for 12hrs on, 12 off
Quite a robust plant so far with very fat leaves. I believe there are 3 - 4 phenos, too early to say which one it is yet.
Still under 50 watts of leds at ~ 750 umols.
Topped it early to try and control the height, fingers crossed.
Transplanting shortly to either 7.5l or 10l pot. I think the growth will explode in a bigger pot.
Its in DIY homemade soil mix. It has been give mild feeds of Maxicrop Seaweed extract so far.

Signs of thrip damage so I stuck a sachet of ambyseilius cucumeris on it. Below.

I've another small Malawi seedling going too.
Enjoy.

My 2 malawi x panama are getting closer to the finish line. Maybe 2 weeks. I have grown a few ace strains and this one provides large colas close to an average person's forearm (approximately 16 inches) like @stale pics above. The malpan is a bit thicker on top. Mine did not like EC above 1.6, but others might have better results pushing it. They stretch like crazy, scrog will help.

ACE's tropical strains get a lot of love, but does anyone have much experience with their mountain/arid climate strains? I grow outdoors in NorCal and am thinking about what to plant next season (already lol), so I'm interested in anything that might grow well in my climate. I'm assuming I should be sticking to middle eastern or northern indian genetics? We don't get much (if any) rain during the grow season, even through Nov/Dec a lot of years but the times it does it comes down hard and even hails or snows on occasion, so anything finishing later then mid-late october is a real gamble.

I've heard good things about Kali China and it seems to fit the bill so I'll probably pick some of that up. PCK seems appropriate but I'm a little worried about its reported potency. I know they say landraces don't need high THC % to have good strong highs but I have a high tolerance and I've never smoked a true landrace strain, I'm not sure what I'll end up liking.

What else seems good for a 35-42° N, ~2500FT, hot and dry grow area? Anybody grown or smoked ACE's Afghan, Moroccan, Lebanese, or Nepali strains? If it matters I prefer a daytime or all-day type of smoke, and I enjoy both flowers and hash.

Malawi male from regular seeds.
Stretched to 22" so far.
I was gonna transplant it to bigger pot but glad I didn't, why waste soil..... lol

From above.

I bent all the stems to overhang one side of the pot to concentrate the falling pollen in one area.
I'll be putting a glass plate under them to catch the falling pollen.

I just put a 3" Paradise Seeds Sensi Star original rooted clone into flower a few days ago in anticipation of a serious breeding project otherwise known as pollen chucking....... ;)

Went away for three days and and the Malawi doubled! One has been a vigorous monster from the start.
The Panama x pck are happily ladies and haven’t stopped praying.

It’s a bit crowded in there for my liking, but I wanted to get some of the less vigorous stuff slightly bigger before I flipped, happy I did.

nothing has been topped just bent over slightly, as first run with seeds I prefer to see the natural structure of each plant over topping.

First time growing a 100% sativa and I want to know opinions on mainlining them. I have an Ace Panama that is at 5 nodes now and looking good (I think). I've been thinking of mainlining her but wasn't sure how a sativa would react. Has anyone done this?
I have a Northern Lights #5 almost finished that I mainlined and it turned out great.

Also, I mentioned that she is looking good (I think). After reading that these like weaker nutes than most, I've been running the Jacks at 1.4 ec and she is a lighter green that other grows I've had. She looks healthy with no tip burn, no signs of deficiencies or leaf curl/clawing but the overall color is lighter. Does anyone remember what ec they ran?

Edit: Forgot to mention that this is an indoor grow so managing height is somewhat of an issue.

Thanks

So, I'm 5-6 weeks into bloom with my Golden Tigers.
I admit to being slightly confused.
The spread of plants I have gives me pause.
I have everything from a 4 foot Malawi leaner that looks JUST like an Afghani indica, to a 7 foot Thai leaner that will simply not stop stretching. It grew 4 inches LAST NGHT.
I had no idea Malawi had such wide leaves and short profile...
I have leaves on the Malawi leaner that are 15 inches across - on a four foot plant.
The majority have leaves that would not advertise the landrace sativa parentage... They look like solid hybrid leaves.
I'm not sure what to think just yet.
If I didn't trust Ace, I'd be suspicious.
