Be interested in your results with the Malawi. I sat for an hour with a pack of Super Malawi Haze and a pack of Golden Tiger in my lap before I decided on the Golden Tiger ( two samples listed - .03 & .1 THCv)
I'm looking for the slightly stabilized (3rd gen) genetics to cross with my indica. See if I can get some hybrid vigor from the jump.
Plus, right now I prefer the thai to the Malawi. Much clearer finish product for me.
My Malawi isn't a no-ceiling plant like the Thai is.
I think it's the indica influence in the Malawi (10%)
SMH is Neville's Haze and Malawi. I never had either of thise. It's going to be a long time before it's done but stay tuned. 23-28% THC. It doesnt say thcv, here's the terp profile -
It mainly contains the following monoterpenes: high amounts of beta pinene, followed by moderate quantities of alpha pinene, beta myrcene and limonene, small amounts of beta ocimene, linalool and traces of isopulegol, camphene, eucalyptol, terpinolene, gamma terpinene and delta 3 carene. Sesquiterpenes: high amounts of beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humelene, followed by moderate quantities of guaiol and traces of bisabolol, trans nerolidol and caryophyllene oxide.

I'm still on the fence about Malawai, generally.
But Neville's haze is the result of Herer siblings, and if you have smoked Cindy99 or Grimms crosses, you have a solid idea about Neville's haze, generally speaking. Herer was a fairly homogenous strain for the times, so it's traits showed like a rainbow in it's scion.
If you are looking for a wide spread of terpenes, check out the Mexican varieties at Ace.
A cross with the Super Malawi Haze and the Mexican variety at Ace of three landraces sounds like a winner. :)

Thanks for the info. I'd like Mexican too I'm sure. I should be able to cross SMH to Ethiopian for what I have now. Trying to give myself more practice with sativas so fingers crossed.

I'm growing the Reg version. I wanted to use them for breeding.
Be interesting to see the differences.

I am curious what your opinion of the effects of the Malawi vs the Thai.

Beautiful plants by the way
I've never grown either so I'll have to let you know after I find out. I have grown different Thai and African strains though and the effects were all over the map. The Malai leaning pheno from the Golden Tiger I grew was pretty intense and something I wouldn't smoke unless I was at home. It was some mind racing stuff. The Malawi is supposed to be as well. In contrast the Ethiopian is a much more mellow strain which I really enjoyed.

Did the golden tiger have any body effects?

Malawi is a strong strain. I grew out 2 females last year. The high is equivalent to receiving a mild concussion.
Smell:Oily and fruity.
Golden tiger felt like you were hovering in air when you were walking. The same as driving a car and hitting black ice, just floating. Nice high.

I always loved thai and that is why i will grow it in late summer with a potential to cross with other thai hybrids.

Had enough concussions, the golden tiger sounds nice.

Not so much a knock you out, sit in the couch and relax, type of high. There were mild body effects but I found it to be more energetic than anything. It can mess with your mind but these are the kinds of strains I like. They get me going mentally. Some people they'll put into a state of paranoia but I don't experience that type of effect very often. The Malawi pheno was pretty intense though but it was great for listening to music. Some people won't like the type of high but I really enjoy it. Especially at night in my man cave where I don't have to deal with anything and have some Judas Priest or Iron Maiden playing. :bigjoint:

That sounds like a good time smoke.

I've been wanting to try a good, long flowering sativa for awhile now. I grew a Nevil's Haze back in the early 2000s that I let flower for 120 days. It could have gone longer, but it had taken over my grow space. It grew like a vine. I had it tied down and looped around everything in the room haha...
