    Like a virgin!

Good idea on the bag for the pump. As far as getting hot here. We are heading into the winter months here. I live in the New England region. I was also wondering with such a large mass of water and the cool temperatures if I would be able to get away without running a chiller. Guess there's...

    Like a virgin!

Whats up RIU. Good to be back. After taking the past four years off i've decided to jump back into the game and push that old envelope again. This will be my first attempt at hydro. I have done several dozen grows in dirt but mostly Promix. After researching the many different ways one can...

A Couple Questions - Best Layout

At 6'10" height will be an issue. Being the case I would use 600's for light. Also no need to have a veg AND clone room. Combine them and use the extra space to flower. Because of your height constrictions you may want to consider short or no veg time. Be mindful of the strain you run. Grow...

Anyone have any experience using Diatomacious earth

Wrong...If you wait till the top layer of your soil is dry and apply to top of soil it works great against mites and gnats in soil. Have used it with great results

    Apollo

1000 watts of light in that tent is 40 watts/sq. ft. That is the least amount of light u should use for a 5x5 area. Good luck.

    Fan and filter setup question...

I personally would never use the same fan for scrubbing my room and cooling the reflectors. ideally you should have one fan pulling cold/cool air through reflector, then through fan and out of room. room scrubber should be filter>Fan>outside. Make sure your reflectors are air tight so none of...

    Active intake questions

yeah thats what i'm talking about. I tried one summer indoors and it was just to hot without adding, imo, too much "stuff." I was growing in a basement too. Cooling and ventilation is always the biggest hurdle for sure. Once the decision is made to skimp out in these areas the garden is...

    Active intake questions

i recently moved to the north east and am looking forward to being able to harness the cold night time air available to me. It's gonna be a beautiful thing.

    Active intake questions

I grew in NC and used the cool night time air to cool lights and cool room. I could only run the system from september till may because the june, july san august nighttime air was not cool enough to cool room and lights. so i would shut it down during those months which was no biggie because i...

    Here's my build

nice quality build though. Few tweaks and it could be a great producing room. Also, IMO you are going to need more light. I've never used LED lighting but it looks under powered to me.

    Here's my build

If you are able to: I would pull fresh cool night time air from the outside to cool the light. Right now your trying to cool the reflector with warm/hot room air. IMO a setup like this is going to need it. You could probably get rid of the a/c if you did so.

    Active intake questions

Well what are you using the air for? Personally I like drawing from the outside. I like the cool nighttime air and use it to cool my lights. Works excellent. I also like using the cool nighttime air to replenish the co2 and to cool the room. Be smart about it and you shouldn't have any problems.

    Help! Mites on my buds

Others on here that have stated it's not true are WRONG. A quick internet search on CO2 fumigation will pull up multiple publications about it. It has been used for years in commercial applications to control insects. This method is not the easiest to pull off but it does work and like I...

    Help! Mites on my buds

I know that you have already sprayed. IMO that is the last thing you should have done this close to harvest. The least invasive option you had was to use CO2. You want to raise levels to around 3000 PPM (double check this figure). This will kill all the bugs in the room without harming your...

    choosing the right light

I use to run two 1000 watt HPS lights over a 9'x5' table. I used the XXXL 6" cooled hoods. intake>ducting>hoods>inline fan>ducting to outside. This method kept my room cool for 8 months/year. Summer time the room would get too warm so I would shut it down during the summer. I always did a...

    choosing the right light

The best way is to use two exhaust lines. To cool hoods bring cool night time air in through hoods and out of room. To exhaust room you will need at the very least a passive intake. Once you have intake in place go, carbon filter>inline fan>ducting to the outside. Good luck

Speed Control for inline fan? No Hum!

I use this speed controller and have never burned a motor up. all my fans work flawlessly and have for several years now. Also, i'm not getting any noise not to be expected. Novice growers need to realize that lights, fans, ballasts, pumps, ect all make noise. There are things that can be...

    Urgent: High TEMP Low Humidity

sounds like you need an exhaust fan in there. In the meantime I would place an oscillating fan blowing directly on the light, not the plants.

    Heat problems 2000watt grow

What is the purpose of having the filter on the exhaust line for your lights? That is where your problem lies. If you are looking for more cooling capacity you need to isolate your exhaust for your lights and the exhaust/scrubber for your room. (1) To cool your hoods, pull cool air from...
