    Clone

Autos do best with a 24/0 light cycle. Toss the timer and leave the bulb on 24/7. Good luck, BigSteve. P.S.-- Autos are a bitch to clone. Also, they tend to be so small anyway that taking cuttings for clones will diminish what will probably already be a meager harvest.

Smaller pot outpaces the bigger one, WHY?

This comes up so often it should be a permanent post.... When a plant goes into dirt it expends nearly all it's energy growing a root mass to support the plant. You will see little or no growth above ground until the roots hit the side or bottom of the pot. Once that happens above grade growth...

    Anybody ever mail it before?

Decades ago I was involved with wholesale pharmaceuticals ;>) . Had a partner in Hawaii whom I would mail product on occasion. I would wrap the package in an old leather vest or other leather garment. Never had a problem. Good luck, BigSteve.

New Grower - 1st Indoor Grow Questions

My plants veg until about 20-22 inches tall (400W bulb) then they get moved to the flower room with a 1000W bulb. Most plants on this schedule will double in height while flowering. All my plants finish in 3 gallon pots and finish around 48 inches. So let your headroom determine your pot size...

How does it look so far

Plants will orient themselves so that they face the light source as much as possible. If a plant leans left I swivel the pot 180 degrees to force the plant to straighten up. Good luck, BigSteve.

With that elaborate rope work you must have a masters in engineering ;>). Good luck, BigSteve.

    What to do with this?

Just a long shot guess here..... Have learned that you cannot trust cats or dogs with access to plants. Good luck and let her grow. BigSteve.

    Looking for good advice

With a small area like your tent you have 2 main concerns this time of year. First is heat. A 400W bulb is as big as I would be comfortable using in your tent. Get a fan on them also. Second is height. Many plants will double in height after being put to flower. Means cut your veg time down or...

Harvesting several strains from one tent

Autos don't need a 12/12 cycle and do best at 24/0. Good luck, BigSteve.

    Is this normal ?

Here's a trick if you continue to grow the same strain. When you are louping tris take a minute to note the color of the pistls on the same plant. There is a stable relationship between tri coloration (maturity) and pistil coloration. With my indicas I note that clear tris starting milking up...

Opinions on strain and basic constructive criticism

Looks to be hybrids that are mostly sativa. See the small guy in the bottom pic? I would use a booster seat to get her closer to the light. Good luck, BigSteve.

    82 degrees in flower ?

Temps are a bit high but manageable if you keep them hydrated. When summer warms things up I put a box fan in the room and increase daily watering in my flowering room from 16 to 24 ounces each. Good luck, BigSteve.

    New grower

"You need to separate them. Multiple plants in one container is no good. I flower when the hit 18-24 inches tall. " What he said. Make sure you put drain holes in the bottom of both when you transplant. The less room you have the shorter veg time you want. If height is a problem just top the...

    Is this normal ?

"Literally just went and got myself a jewlers loupe now. Moment of truth time when I get home " It's easy to trip yourself up if you are new with a loupe or, my preference is a 30X lighted hand 'scope, anything over 10X. I used to cut off a small sugar leaf and lay it on a white sheet of paper...

    Veg and flowering lighting

If you are serious about growing more than a couple grows you might as well start off smart. I suggest 2 lights - one for vegging and one for flowering. I have a 400W bulb in my 3 x 5 veg closet and a 1000W bulb in my 8 x 8 flower room. On eBay you can pick up complete set-ups, hood, bulb...

Had to tie up all buds, got EXTREMELY heavy over night. Is this okay? (picture)

"Guess ill try some stakes! I wont damage the roots when i put them in, will I?" Actually it helps the root system to have holes poked in it. I use 16 inch wooden skewers that I stab into the roots. My MJ guru tells me that this aerates the roots, allows more oxygen to get where it is needed...

First time grower, don't know what to think

If that is the only plant you got going I would let her finish. You have a number of weeks invested already and maybe 4-6 weeks to harvest. The plant appears to be a sativa and they do take longer to finish, but hey, what do you have to lose. You didn't say if you bought feminized or regular...

    Seedling slow

You only need a 1/2 inch or larger tap root to successfully move the seedling into dirt. Trick is to put them into soil that you have watered until the soil is able to form mudballs. Then when you put the seedling into the hole make sure to press the dirt around the seedling pretty firmly so the...

How to water small plants in big pots of coco?

Three week old seedlings in 3 gallon pots means you will spend extra time waiting for veg cycle to start. Seedlings just going into dirt spend most of their energy building up a rootball that will support the plant. As a result the plant will sgow little growth above grade until the roots are...

    Day 6 seedlings

Second pic on bottom has a hanging seedcap that I would remove. Hold a toothpick in your left hand and hold it on the left side of the stem right below the cap. With a second toothpick use your right hand to gently pull the cap off to your left. Good luck, BigSteve.
