    Astir Grow Led Panel Project...

Just thought these were really "cool." Expensive, but cool. I know it's dumb, you can get an "Astir"-type heat sink for much cheaper and achieve the same results, but... http://www.xoxide.com/nofancr-95cicepipefanlesscpucooler-copper.html?gclid=CNu_iJXk2rQCFQmmPAod5XMAoQ For 50W'ers these can...

[DIY] Which Thermal Glue? (Advice needed)

Super cheap, yet perhaps a little messy. Less is more. I think I'll try this method, it looks especially good for items with large surface areas. http://www.overclockers.com/better-than-thermal-grease/ I think some of the tips in this article can be used with other types of adhesive as well...

    Astir Grow Led Panel Project...

Why not use multi chip LED's? More lumens/cm^2 which is especially useful when Red phosphor (and PolarKote, I guess) is so expensive. You can have custom 50W LED chips made relatively cheaply with, say, 4 x 380nm, 23 x 440nm, and 23 x 460nm. You could even throw some 660nm's in there, the...

Wouldn't the phosphor lens have to be huge then?

    Hans Panel 56w triband led(65w total)>VS<Indagro 100 full spec induction(105w)+FIGHT!

http://www.rsc.org/chemistryworld/issues/2009/may/theartificialleaf.asp People have been working on that for a long time. Some interesting developments have taken place more recently. What I really like about this is it converts sunlight almost directly into hydrogen and oxygen. We already have...

Just bought lights... hoping I got the right ones

I've seen the spectral distribution graph of their panels and it looks very good. It will be a great full cycle light.

    liquid cooled led`s ?

Nope, we're talking about two different manufacturers of LED chips. A lot of these Chinese manufacturers swear that they use 45mil Epistar or Epiled dies. Dunno. Is one brand better than the other? Probably. Worth the price difference? Probably not if you're me, but you should cover your bases...

    liquid cooled led`s ?

rikdabrick, I'm still not on the same page as you I don't think. Like Campo Cultivator alluded, these 100W chips use one hundred 1W diodes in a grid-type matrix in order to achieve 100W of LED in a relatively small footprint. Given LED's are, on average, 20%-25% efficient that's still 75-80W of...

    liquid cooled led`s ?

Wait, rikdabrick, you're talking about 50W LED chips, right? The ones inside Chronikool's flood lights? Also, I'm pretty sure this is where KONASSURE got his panel. http://www.vanqled.com/ledgrowlight/index_xx.asp?id=464

Any info on DIY induction Lamps

I think one of those disposable Aluminum turkey basting trays you find at the grocery store could be used as a reflector in a pinch. :eyesmoke: I agree with you, the bulbs and ballasts seem cheap enough, but add a hood and prices get out of hand quickly.

    Astir Grow Led Panel Project...

Try moving the panel back 5-10cm. Sounds like stress from the intense light. Perhaps you could even LST the plants a bit to get a more even canopy (if you haven't done this already).

Small DYI LED project - build journal

Your English is perfect. Apology not accepted! By the way, very interesting project. Nice spectrum choice, and that's some intense cooling you've got going on, too. Will love to see this thing in action! I'm sure your plants will reach for those LED stars.

I've been checking out old RIU threads that Google has found for me. Most of the pictures in them seem to have expired which, I agree, totally sucks.

I hand stitched myself a 5.4 gallon smart pot outta felt yesterday. Probably took me 45 minutes beginning to end. <<<Not very efficient... or fun. If I knew how to use the damn sewing machine it'd have taken me like 5. Perhaps a skill worth learning since the fabric and thread would probably...

Hey, no problem. Here's a thread with someone using those flood lights. https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/600170-chronikool-z-led-organic-sog.html Pretty cool if you ask me, I might just follow his footsteps.

Will any of these work for veg?

The 4500K White's should be good for veg. Maybe check out the LED flood lights on eBay, too. You can get them in different CCT's (you'll probably want "Daylight" or "Neutral White," ~4000K-6000K) and different wattages. Most come with an LED driver attached to the housing meaning all that's...

Will any of these work for veg?

Their White LED's are all Neutral or Cool White. You'd really want Warm White if you planned to flower with these. You'd use this panel from seed/clone to flower? Have you contacted them? Do you know if they are willing to supply other colors? I have experience with this eBay seller...

Kali Mist Old school weed at it's finest

I've seen a few episodes of Through The Wormhole. A lot of that stuff is very interesting, you've just got to get past all the stuff you've already seen and heard from past episodes because they repeat a lot I feel. Prophets of Science Fiction on the ScfiFi channel is a good one, too. Speaking...
