Chronikool’z LED + Organic + SOG + Party cup perpetual ‘boxes of fun’ grow!™

So do you have a preference towards Warm White or Daylight by now, or is a Watt a Watt for your intents and purposes? Any reason why you went with prebuilt 10W flood lights as opposed to building your own? Glass lens, easy to hang, minimal cost benefit, or something along those lines? Big fan...

    sound vibration

There are piezoelectric tweeters that you can buy cheaply on eBay. They are meant for cars, I believe. They can take a lot of juice. If you knew what frequency to play I'm confident a piezoelectric driver could extend that high up. Due to the minimal excursion requirements of high frequency...

Quick 'Yes' or 'No' or 'Go away' question

Assuming the 3W diode runs at ~3V, you'd have to run an entire Amp through them to get 3W, which you can do, but is in all likeliness the max load that the diode can handle. It won't live as long and it will be less efficient. I don't know any DIY'er who runs their diodes at max load, let alone...

Quick 'Yes' or 'No' or 'Go away' question

No problem. These "LED chips" are basically just a bunch of LED diodes wired up in series. 100W chips have one hundred, 1Watt diodes in a 10 x 10 square. They have a negative terminal and a positive terminal. The LED driver has two input wires (alternating current from your wall, so neither...

Need Help With HeatSink Choice..Thanks !

There's nothing really wrong with what you have in mind, imo. The only thing that concerns me is the cost. $3 per heat sink? A large block heat sink should be a lot cheaper than $3/LED, and given you buy the right sized heat sink it will cool the LED's perfectly well. It's up to you, but I'd...

    Astir Grow Led Panel Project...

    I'll throw this out so someone can tell me I'm wrong. >.< I like the idea of, Neutral White : Warm White : 630nm : 660nm 3 : 9 : 1 : 2

Quick 'Yes' or 'No' or 'Go away' question

Upfront, HPS is cheapest and easiest if you can deal with the heat. LED's are cool, don't get me wrong, but (today) 1000Watt's of HID and 1000Watt's of LED produce about the same amount of heat (they're both about 20% efficient). The biggest difference as far as heat is concerned would be...

Quick 'Yes' or 'No' or 'Go away' question

Easiest method would probably be HPS. I do like the idea of a number of 20W-100W LED chips strewn around the grow room. Sounds like fun.

Need Help With HeatSink Choice..Thanks !

I'll assume you're talking about low wattage (1-5W) LED's. Given the sheer number of LED's you'll most likely need, it's easier to hang one large heat sink as opposed to 100 smaller ones.

Oh fuck yes. Line those walls, man. Who needs panda film when the walls produce light themselves?! I really hope this works. Good luck.

Wait. She might turn around, she might not. Depends on how bad it got out there. Sorry to hear it and good luck.

    led suggestions

I think 60W/ft^2 sounds nice. Warranty is important. American? Will you have to ship the panel to China if something goes wrong? Watt/$1 is something to keep in mind. Look out for inflated numbers. Often panels are advertised as, say, 180W and yet it ends up only being 130W at the plug...

GIMP is a nice program and it's free. You can make the image whatever size you want and then tell it to print per your specified dimensions in a plethora of units (pixels, inches, millimeters, etc). There are also a few free programs that can convert JPG to DXF. Easy way to draw your diagram in...

Thought you said Capcom, was gonna hafta open a can. The Kapton and Copper clad thickness are variable. I think the thinnest Kapton they provide is like 20 micron, but that's completely off memory so don't quote me. Still, it's damn thin. I'm not exactly sure about power handling capabilities...

These look cool for that, I think. http://www.circuitspecialists.com/variac-variable-ac-ps05kva.html I like your idea of going a little over your current needs, FranJan. I got the FV-08VQ5 (80cfm) despite only really needing about 20-30cfm. You never know, it could come in handy someday.
