I personally liked Obama. I think he is a decent human being with mostly good intentions.

On the issues overall he was pretty good. Obamacare was step in the right direction, but I would have liked to see it go farther. I wanted to see both wars ended. He drew down troop numbers, which again was a step in the right direction but not far enough. His use of drone strikes was deplorable though, and helping overthrow other govts was messing in sandboxes we shouldn't be playing in. I wanted to see gitmo closed...he drew the numbers down. Making the Bush tax cuts permanent was another thing I didn't care for at all.

I loved what he did for the LGBT community, and I loved his emphasis on environmental issues and green energy. Without facing the racism that he did, and the obstructionist Republican Party in congress I believe he could have accomplished even more. I would have voted for a third term for him in a heartbeat if that were an option.

Good reply. All perfectly reasonable points. I don't disagree with any of them. I do believe Obama would have accomplished a lot more had he not faced unprecedented obstruction or had to deal with the backlash of a populace that was still way more racist than most of us realized. Also, the dire straights at play when he took office obviously forced focus away from other issues. He had a couple of huge fires to put out before he could even begin to tackle his agenda.

He gets extra points for avoiding the cliff the Bush 43 adminstration was sending us over. I don't think he needed to give the farm to the banks to do it.

His presidency should have taught the DNC something. He won because he promised change. Period. He tapped in to the desire of the American public for something other than politics as usual. He faced an uphill battle being African American and a junior senator, but won in a landslide in spite of that.

So who does the DNC endorse after his two successful campaigns based on CHANGE....the most establishment candidate in the race. :confused:

Her not getting my vote had nothing to do with her being female. You always play this card to try and discredit someone's argument.

Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris are two potential candidates that would likely get my vote if they run in 2020 based upon what I've seen so far. Strange eh?

I love what I see so far. I need to look at her voting record and platform (if/when she makes it official) a bit more, but she takes no shit from the right and has character. She's my early favorite for sure.
