The arguing back and forth about the ACA is kind of pointless.

We need to remove insurance companies from the equation.

We can't have a universal healthcare system with insurance companies.
The irony here is that in order for Trump to keep his promises of repealing Obamacare and keeping the pre-existing condition mandate, his only real option will be universal healthcare.

Wouldn't that be a smack in the face to his supporters?

You can do a semi-private system.

70% of hospital beds are public, 100% funded from taxation.

20% are semi private, you know nicer room with less people, shorter waits, 1 bathroom per 2-4 people partially funded by taxation and partially covered by private insurance.

10% are private (usually a separate hospital) and receive no public funding.

Insurance companies can still exist (and do in a lot of countries with universal health care) but they are a tiny part of overall "marketshare" (a terribly inappropriate term to cover health care, but I digress).
None of this or anything else is doable, unless EVERYONE pays into the kitty in a fair and equitable manner.

How?

By getting rid of lobby and pay to play..

Was this accomplished with electing Trump?

No, just the opposite.

Focus on the Canadian patient's face as Moore explains how the American patient was forced to spend multiple thousands to salvage his own fingers.

The consummate moron and septic tank leech, good ol' clueless ANALEXCESS.

It'd be a real shame if you sustained a vicious injury and couldn't afford the needed treatment. A gaping laceration from ear to ear, for example.
That was a great documentary every universal healthcare skeptic should watch it, didn't it also have something in there about Dr. house calls?

My Wife's family are in Canada and I always wondered why they hate visiting us here in America we always went to see them but after I saw this documentary I understood why.

One thing that chilled me was that terrorist held at Guantanamo Bay got better healthcare than the poorest US resident or first responders on 9/11, the boatloads of people who went to Cuba to get free healthcare was so emotional.

I think there are different ways to manage the pre-exsting risk pool, but no free lunch on any of them. The taxpayers will have to pay! Or rather, the Fed Reserve will have to pay! LOL We are screwed.

And this is why we would never have universal healthcare because of folks who think like you, I guess you like being denied coverage because you smoke, drink, eat too much.
Could be, my dislike for Obamacare is largely fueled by my personal experiences with it, and how it was sold on lies.

Did he say he was in support of that?

You know what they say about assumptions. And opinions.
I don't trust or believe a word drumpf says but I do believe what Paul Ryan will do to Medicaid and all the other Social programs, he's been proposing cuts to Social programs for years look up Paul Ryan's budget proposal.

Look Pie it is very simple there is only 1 party who champions Social programs, universal healthcare and I'll give you a hint on who that is it's not the Republican Party.

For your kids sake I hope I'm wrong.

I dont want universal healthcare. I want competition and options.

Medicaid and other social programs will still exist along with options for more direct benefits.

Competition has worked very well for lasik surgery and cosmetic surgery, the stuff not covered by insurance. I think the pre-existing conditions group will always need a government subsidy program, no matter what solution we go with.

I dont think anyone has blind faith in the Trump administration.

He hasnt even taken office yet and he has been accused, tried and impeached by the left already.

Give him a chance, he isnt a politician. I am sure the Republican congress will fuck up much of the good he could do.
I believe a republican congress will get tired of trumps BS & impeach him....hopefully sooner than later

I think the repubs will go right along with him, and destroy the party. They won't impeach because they will be complicit.

And yet you rather believe the lies of trump and his congress to give you a better choice for your healthcare? How are HSA going to help the poor of this country?

There is no repeal and replace of Obamacare, that's just been a great big lie. There is no replacement on the table, they had 6 years to come up with one you think they have one now? The top 5 states that that has the highest enrollment in the ACA voted for drumpf wonder how they're gonna feel when he pulls the rug out from under them.

Obama lied, Trump lies, so why would I want government involved in my healthcare decisions at all?

America is being raped by insurance companies & big pharma, and some people say we just need more options.....that's like telling a rape victim, maybe if you roll over & take it in the ass it won't be so bad.....
I agree, but these guys are backed by politicians that helped set up their little fiefdoms.
