Of course if you over do it the outcomes are not going to be good.. those who were spanked more frequently at age 3 were much more likely to be aggressive by age 5."
what amount of physically beating a defenseless child is sufficient in your expert opinion?Of course if you over do it the outcomes are not going to be good.
Spanking a child once is more frequently than spanking it zero times. Any spanking is overdoing it. What they are saying is that the more you do it, the worse it gets. They are NOT saying that doing it infrequently is okay.Of course if you over do it the outcomes are not going to be good.
Shall we list ur flaws my dear..ur only way of communicating is by trying to prove others wrong with semantics and insults not discuss anything. .ur the definition of flawed bucky...think about that.i don't think you can read a study. the study did not say that children who are spanked invariably hit others, it says they are more likely to.
lol so i guess ur reading comprehension is flawed. .
so should my goal in debate be to prove myself wrong then?Shall we list ur flaws my dear..ur only way of communicating is by trying to prove others wrong not discuss anything. .ur the definition of flawed bucky...think about that.
With intelligence yes...lately ur comments are those of an angry toddler. .ur kinda mean and not entertaining anymore. .so should my goal in debate be to prove myself wrong then?
Easy Google.damn, socko. you got your facts all wrong.
Never spanked a kid while pissed I wait till I calm down before doing so I don't hurt the lil fellas.I've helped raise many nieces and nephews, as well as dogs, and I've never beaten, errrrr, 'spanked' any of them.
The notion/act of spanking shows poor parenting, imho. The parent becomes angry/frightened in a given scenario, and rather than make eye contact, sit down, and try and rationalize with the kid as an actual developing personality, they lash out in their OWN anger and then attempt to justify it with bullshit like "This is gonna hurt ME way more than it hurts YOU!" >SMACK!<
Poor parenting and an inability to relate to your own children.
There are eight in my family, and none of us were beaten/spanked, outside of a few isolated examples. (Mom slapping my sister's mouth, my pop smacking my ass once with a slipper, etc.)
My parents t-a-l-k-e-d with us as if we were people, not subservients/pets that were expected to behave in certain ways.
Have you ever WORKED with abused kids? How about that gun shy look an abused animal develops over time? Yeah.....keep right on 'spanking' and justifying it as best you can....
Thankfully you'll be dead, but no worries, the good people of the future will be there with social service aide to care for your violence-damaged kids.Ah this country is going to be a cesspool of pussies in 50 or so years.
Yeah, wait until there is absolutely no possibility that the child's mind will understand. Make everything as damaging as possible. Way to go! I hope one of your kids beats you when you're too old to defend yourself.Never spanked a kid while pissed I wait till I calm down before doing so I don't hurt the lil fellas.
Yes I have been around alot of abused kids mainly physical abuse (bruises, cuts, and broke bones) and a few who have been raped. It is terrible on how they act their amount of distrust towards people but those where not corporal punishment they where abuse. More often than not in these cases me and a few other people go and "visit" their "guardians".I've helped raise many nieces and nephews, as well as dogs, and I've never beaten, errrrr, 'spanked' any of them.

What would you suggest, a time out? Are the pimps in indonesia the result of getting spanked, or do you think maybe it has something to do with poverty and the estimated 18 million kids that live on the street? I think you're taking to it the extreme. Is anybody really in favor of beating kid's, there's a difference between beating's and the occasional swat on the ass once in a while.Children's brains do not understand the nuances of punishment. Even if he hadn't hit another dog before, I guarantee you that he was hit before. Hitting (of ANY form, spanking included) your child vastly increases the chance that they will act out violently themselves, because it teaches them the lesson that when someone or something does something you don't like, you can and should use violence against that person or thing. Children who are spanked become more likely to strike fellow students once they join school, and are more likely to beat their own spouse and children once they have a family. You are literally re-wiring the child's mind to use violence to express displeasure. People who are beaten as children wind up beating their children, and children who are beaten grow up more violent than children who are not. Furthermore, you teach them to ignore any form of non-violent authority, so they are more likely to break rules at school and break laws in general, because now violence is the only form of discipline their brains understand and respect. Studies have reaffirmed this connection again and again.
You obviously have never been to Indonesia. I've spent a considerable amount of time there, and in just about every major city, just walking down the street you get asked "You want coke? You want weed? You want girls? Or boys? Whatever you want I can get it for you!" over and over and over, by the pimps and drug dealers who post up on the street corners. I literally had to threaten a pimp who wouldn't stop following me, trying to figure out what drugs or prostitutes I wanted. He wouldn't leave and eventually he actually grabbed my arm and I thought "enough is enough, you don't get to touch me" and I pulled back like I was going to hit him, and finally he ran off to the next mark. People are not discouraged by what will happen to them if they are caught, all they take into account is how likely they are to get caught. You can have all the penalties you want, if people think they won't get caught they will do it anyways.
Maybe the kids who were spanked more frequently were the naughtier kids? That's why they were naughty later? It's like saying kids who go to hospitals are more likely to go to hospitals later. Yeah, they are kids who get sick more or have health issues. Kids who get spanked tend to have behavioral issues. Could be your way as well....http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1983895,00.html
The Long-Term Effects of Spanking
A multiyear study shows spanking kids makes them more aggressive later on
"As many parents can attest, few disciplinary measures stop a child from misbehaving as quickly as a swift smack or two on the bottom. But in a new study published in Pediatrics, researchers at Tulane University provide the strongest evidence yet that children's short-term response to spanking may make them act out more in the long run. Of the nearly 2,500 youngsters in the study, those who were spanked more frequently at age 3 were much more likely to be aggressive by age 5."
"The reason for this may be that spanking sets up a loop of bad behavior. Corporal punishment instills fear rather than understanding. Even if children stop tantrums when spanked, that doesn't mean they get why they shouldn't have been acting up in the first place. What's more, spanking sets a bad example, teaching children that aggressive behavior is a solution to their parents' problems."
so my goal should be to prove myself wrong in debate. ok, got it. starting now. With intelligence yes...lately ur comments are those of an angry toddler. .ur kinda mean and not entertaining anymore. .
