Read the case, he couldn't see clearly on the cameras at all because they were in a dark room with no night vision capability. He could see a shape in there, but in no way could make out whether the person was a teen or whether or not he was armed.

After a second thought on this i wonder how much ganj he had.. surprised they are not charging him with furtherance of drig trafficking with a firearm, that charge is the only reason my mossberg and my grow will never share the same residence.

You have managed to drag me away from my original point. Congrats.
Like I said before, there is a particular political disposition which apparently correlates with valuing property over life. It makes this sort of case into a polemic discussion.
You want to focus on legality of killing intruders, but if you had ever killed anyone you would know that the law doesn't absolve you.
In this case however, it is clear that someone killed someone else and the dead person becomes the threat he could have been. No thought is given to the FACT that it was actually an unarmed dumb kid.
Instead you focus on the legality because you think I am arguing that guns should be taken from free people. This guy just wanted to legally kill someone, and I know all about ass holes like that. In hindsight it is already a fact, beyond debate that this kid was not armed yet you still can't express that this is regrettable.
Maybe that's why you joined the Marines yourself. So you could kill.

But here is the thing; If someone was to break into my place and I put 2 in their chest, by the time the police came there would be nothing in sight for them to know that I have or am growing.. There is no smell, no extra heat and no noticeable noise.. Only thing the police would do if they came to my place after finding out that I am legally allowed to carry is they would say good job, one more of these fuckers off the street.
You can't read minds so you have no idea if he actually wanted to kill the kid or not. Great way to try and vet your opinion as anything but though.
If the kid had not committed a crime, he would still be alive.
the kid put things into motion, not the shooter.

But the shooter clearly anticipated that his home would be broken into and planned accordingly. His plan was as responsible for the kid's death as the kid's plan was.

From my perspective the only person who didn't care about life was the kid breaking into peoples houses. That is a complete disregard for ones own life.
It isn't like the home owner sent out a memo saying; hey I want to kill an unarmed kid, come break into my house so I can legally do so.
