What If ObamaCare is Found Constitutional

You need insurance and if you chose not to buy it there will be a fine, chose not to pay your fine and you can go to jail and if you would like to get out early you can work to gain an earlier release, this will be good for the economy and teach people that they need insurance- it is not an option, everyone needs it.
not paying the fine carries no criminal or civil penalties. no jail, no garnishing of wages, nothing.

yes you do. stop and go takes up way more fuel than just cruising right on through. more wear and tear on the automobile as well.
First time you get nailed for that will have a cautionary effect. It did for me. I dislike Imperial entanglements from some ambush cop more than a bit of wear&tear. cn

Grilled Defeated Salmon

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds salmon fillets
  • lemon pepper to taste
  • garlic powder to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Season salmon fillets with lemon pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and vegetable oil until sugar is dissolved. Place fish in a large resealable plastic bag with the soy sauce mixture, seal, and turn to coat. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  3. Preheat grill for medium heat.
  4. Lightly oil grill grate. Place salmon on the preheated grill, and discard marinade. Cook salmon for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with some grill asparagus.

you told me to grow up for detailing extra costs of coming to a stop. that smacked of something bitter.
Not bitter, more like giving some advice.
BTW, I said there are no out of pocket expenses for not stopping (if not caught) and you brought up the "wear and tear" defense but that has nothing to do with a government mandate to buy health insurance.
Now, tell me what the cost of the wear and tear is of not buying insurance.

is your strategy to tie the debate into a knot and point out that it's knotted?

the penalty for not buying insurance, which applies only if you can afford to (4x poverty) is about $700.

keep not stopping at stop signs and you'll have a similar bill to pay.

I have no strategy, I'm just asking questions.
What happens if I refuse to pay the $700, do I wear out my brakes?
I never stop at a stop sign, never.

then you owe $700. no criminal or civil penalties, no jail, not even possible to garnish wages or put a lien.

we've been over this before, remember? you were trying to tell me that IRS agents will come to your home with guns and shoot you dead if you don't buy insurance.

There you go, again, misquoting me. I never said that IRS agents will come to your house and shoot you dead if you don't pay the fine. All I asked was "what would happen if one does not pay the fine?" You answered that, nothing, so after Thursday, it's not going to make any difference, anyway, but if you are trying to sell the idea that if one does not comply with a federal mandate, there are no consequences, I'm not buying.

i was exaggerating a bit to make you look like the chicken little you are.

you tried to say eventually you'd end up dead or in jail for not paying the fine. not the case.
