Weed addiction real or not?

For me, it's not an addiction to bud. It's that I can't handle reality and my own horrible physical and mental feelings so I have to have something to take me away or lift me up.

Technically you can become addicted to almost any activity. Tis the truth. I'm addicted to fishing. Like I freak out literally and can't sleep if I haven't done it in the last 3 days.

i'm an ex junky, and have been smoking weed for over 20 years now, and there is no real withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting cannabis ..
to those people who think otherwise, i suggest doing heroin for a month straight then quit cold turkey then come back and talk to me about watt withdrawals feel like..
well said. and without sounding patronising at all props for being clean

most people who claim to be addicted are usually whiny little bitches who got busted.

say you're addicted and the courts might be a bit more lenient.

i love peanut butter. i eat some everyday.

am i addicted or do i just love peanut butter?

while in thailand back in the day, i was smoking smack for a few months

when i came back to the world and stopped smoking it, i felt like i had the flu for a few days.

when i stop smoking pot, i'm just annoyed that i had to stop for whatever reason. big difference. :)

You're in rehab for WEED?! You ever suck cock for weed?! No freaking way. Weed has some withdrawal symptoms sure, we call it 'jonesing' and it sucks a tiny bit. To compare it to dope sickness, opiate withdrawal is frankly insulting to those who have actually gone thru a real withdrawal. There are some drugs that have serious effects when stopped. Alcoholics can actually die from just stopping cold turkey. Caffeine was mentioned here and is a real bitch to come off of. Cigarettes are pretty tough. Opiate withdrawal kicks all of these in the nuts (except alcohol cuz that shit just kills!) MJ is actually very easy to let go when you have to, and pretty easy to pick back up. Try going on a 2 week holiday somewhere that has no dope. For a day or two you might jones a bit but after a few days you won't even think about it. Opiates day 1 you'll survive, day 2 you'll be shitting and jerking your body around like you have the fever/chills. Day three isn't any better, it's like being horribly sick. By the time day 7 is around you will not even care that you were on a holiday. These just don't even begin to compare.

ah pussies. you go through dope sickness enough times its not even that bad. ;) 3 days of misery. The hard part is staying off it. You are tired and worn down and hot and cold and hair trigger wiener (gf hates that) for MONTHS. It so much easier to just get high and feel normal again.
Fortunately I did a little time and you can pretty much kick back and do nothing and recoup. then its just not picking it up again. I've been clean for 10 years. Once you break out long enough you realize its not worth even doing it one more time. I tell all my doctors I'm allergic to opiates. I break out in jail and living under a bridge. they laugh and give me ibuprofen :(

but to answer. you can be mentaly addicted to weed the same way a gambler is addicted (they arent they are just weak minded) or a jogger that jogs everyday and jones when they miss a day. You dont get dope sick though fo sheasy.
