back to the main topic: (walker texas ranger is distracting me too damnit. good episode)

im going with Placebo on the physcological side of it. however... it seems it is possible to have gastro-intestinal issues when stoping cannabis consumption. it typically happens to people who have a poor diet anyhow tho. but there are proven cases i see now... and the insomnia seems to be hit or miss. no hard info on that imo, thats a bit of a gray area.

i once was banned from drinking any thing that had caffeine in it, and let me tell you, fuck man, that shit blows.. caffeine withdrawal is 100x's worse than anything i've experienced from cannabis..

So ive been reading(not on RIU) about people claiming to be addicted to marijuana.

They claim "dope-sick-ness" just like getting off of opiates. If you dont understand opiate w/d, look it up on WIKIpedia for the basics.

I find this to be a physiological thing. If you let yourself feel like your w/d'ing you most likely will, especially being in that psychological state of "quitting" anyways.

ALSO these people who bitterly argue that they w/d, i personally believe have had opiate abuse issues, or other opiate issues. cannabinoids and opioids are used by the brain in a similar way. in fact i had an addiction specialist tell me injesting weed before doing opiates, particularly maintenance opiates, can interfere with the way the opiates are recepted.

another thing is that alot of people who smoke weed, smoke tobacco. also alcohol, benzo's and other drugs...

i just find it hard to believe considering ive been smoking for at least 12+ years with only one break of about 3 days. and ive never had any PHYSICAL issues.

any experiences or ideas here? im leaning towards placebo but im willing to hear people out.

I experience withdrawals when i do not have weed for more than 12hrs, general irratibility, nausea, headaches, and the inability to think about much else than where am i going to find some weed to smoke. i have had a previous opiate addiction that i rehabbed for, to prevent me from going back to man made narcotics, I just smoke weed daily. I have met people who can take or leave even the most addictive substances, others become a bitch for it in weeks. you can't claim to be in peoples body's and heads, you don't know what it is like for them, try not to make broad generalisations just because its not true for you.

idk if this was directed at me or not... but look at the last few words of my OP. "im willing to hear people out" and if u read THRU the thread i posted more info about acutally physical symptoms. its just rare. and typically ONLY happens to people who happen to be ex-opiate heads.

i saw a piece on 60 minutes where this guy says that high fructose corn syrup is as addictive as heroin and should be controled and regulated like alcohol or cigs. and ya know what? i believe it. but you can smoke cannabis till the cows come home and walk away with no real withdraw. i did it. i don't see why everyone else can't. i also think almost anything can be addictive to a degree. try giving up coffee. or sex. i subscribe to the idea of everything in moderation. even cannabis. but it isn't addictive in my opinion. i can't believe i even suggested giving up coffee. ha. that ain't ever gonna happen...lol

all iknow is after a month i still couldnt sleep, freezing cold all the time, etc etc. just from IV morphine. 2-3 hours half life.

s'ok CN thx tho i apprciate the concern. :) i just go back and forth with it and sometimes i just wanna spit it out. :( i dont mean for people to feel sorry for me, lot of worse off people in flint. crazy...
EDIT: usually me being clean = actually being around on sites like this. it helps! the stupid addiction is mostly why i didnt pay more attention to what i was doing including enjoying RIU properly. (and i neglected my plants, which is now the opposite)

all WILL get better if i just take one step at a time! same for all-uh ya'll! :)

no thats no entirely true about the potency of NAM dope. they knew what they were doing. street dope is closer to about 10% purity on avg. pure dia-morph and ud be addicted in about 5 days dude. if u didnt die from inhaling it first.

EDIT: im not trying to argue or be a jerk either im just saying. lots of people have mis-conceptions of the potency of the dope they used back then.
95% pure dia morph.... no i doubt it. only place u gonna find that, is in the actually manufacturing facilities in places like burma.

or in Norway where its actually a legal drug to prescribe. im just sayin... go look it up on erowid, bluelight, opiophile.... etc etc. :)

sry to get a lil off topic here too...
Thats okay I bought an oz for I think $125.00 and got 5k for it in the states. So maybe I am off some.

well i think that we play our minds into believing we are addicted so no and yes is my answer. i mean its not addictive at all but i bet there are addicts because they trick their minds into being addicted to the concept of weed and they feel they need to go through the high process, but this can be applied to anything hell there's people addicted to sex you know? well i know of this documentary overall its good but i hate because i feel like this guy is just being a plain idiot.

because everyone else is not you, everyones different lol

Hi guys just my 2 cents, I've never done any amount of opiates to feel withdrawal but I've read a lot about withdrawal and I personally think that weed DOES cause some kind of physical withdrawal, when I don't have any smoke for a day or 2 I end up with all my muscles aching continuously and a massive lack of energy, although I suppose it could all just be in my head :P I have got crazy addictive tendencies hence why I've never risked it.
just a thought

Been watching Intervention lol. I've never seen an episode of intervention yet for just marijuana, they did have episodes where marijuana was involved with harder drugs.

I'm just waiting for that weed episode tho. It's going to be some dickhead 35 year old stoner living in his parents basement still getting drug tested by them. I'm going to shit my fucking pants laughing.
