yeah as a past hard core drug user who got off cold turkey theres no weed withdrawal, symptoms like there was when i did heroine, but if there is there symptoms are most likely close to "lack of hunger, being bored all the time while sober, " ....however people can be mentally addicted to anything so mentally yes most likely theres some nut job out there addicted to weed, with humans anything is really possible so to say theres not a single person out there not addicted to marjiuanna i wouldnt chance it, because most likey someone somewhere thinks they are
good post...

good post...
yes well generally the biggest complaint when people dont have weed is that theyre never hungry, or lack thereof of hunger, and that theyre bored, everything they take enjoyment in is boring, such has video games, talking with friends, going for a walk ,

Congrats man... edibles saved my ass during the worst part of the w.ds
Thanks! I feel like my first grow saved my sanity. I had something to pay attention to. This place helped a lot. I was devouring information like it was going out of style.

im interested alot in how your brain handles both substances if you are a heavy smoker while coming off of a maintenence drug like methadone or sub.

that crap gets inyour bones dude... my buddy got offered methadone maintenence permanently. im afraid of that.
Kicking oxy was a dawdle compared to methadone. Oxy ... two weeks (with four bad days) ... done.
Methadone took three, four months before the misery faded into the background. The withdrawal was immediately and lastingly worse: acute 10 days, still pretty bad 5-6 weeks. Jmo. cn

My biggest complaint is I get grouchy when I'm bored. I don't have any less interest per say, unless it's a movie with allot of pot references and I can't smoke for some reason. It's more like a passing thought after the third day, I don't dwell or let it take up too much space. Then again I havn't been without in sometime. lol

Weed is about addictive as video games......same shit different toilet.

If a kid is playing video games everyday, it's not because of addiction but because of strong passion for the hobby. Same goes for skateboarding/snowboarding. it "feels" addicting but it's actually because your personality cliques with it so much that you crave the experience again and again. But, your body doesn't crave the experience like it would with hard drugs.

It's the same thing for smoking weed. The only difference is that smoking weed/playing video games requires very limited physical work so they are lazy hobbies. It doesn't make these hobbies an addiction just because there isn't much physical work involved.

There's two definitions to the term ADDICTION.

1.Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects.
2.Enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity.

Marijuana falls under the second definition for addiction.

For the 1st definition, it doesn't say physically OR mentally dependant. It says mentally AND physically dependent. So that tells you that in order for it to be classified as addiction, your body must crave the substance.

I have noticed I myself and I also have heard from many people that they get irratible if they stop smoking all of a sudden. For me its the worst the first week but after that I lose the irritability

Also, stoners are about as addicted to weed as adrenaline junkies are addicted to adrenaline.

They aren't actually addicted to the adrenaline. They're bodies don't demand it...yet they keep seeking out adrenaline rush's because it provides such an enjoyable feeling. It's just that getting stoned is way easier, faster and safer than doing crazy shit to get a rush so we do it more often.

yeah but there are healthy ways to get your adrenaline going like hardcore working out and listening to blaring music. takes a while though. I actually can lift more and get more energy halfway thru my excersice...But i take kinda big breaks in between.

even tho sub/bupe is a partial agaonist i find it makes you w/d just as hard.

it would be great to have some REAL study info on opiate addiction and marijuana. instead of a buncha bull that the gov feeds us.

We all have our own personal "addictions" be it a TV show, a joint, a candy bar, a soda, coffee, sex, work, money.. religion you name it... there is someone someplace "addicted" to it.. there is a now a show called my strange addiction showcases things like a lady who eats dryer sheets, rocks, chalk etc..

we have become so freaking bored with stuff we need to make up crap to be "addicted" too..

I can honestly say I only stopped smoking weed one time on purpose, I was studying hard for the MCSE tests back in 98 and felt my back was against the wall with career opportunities so I wanted to make sure my mind was retaining all it could. My wife couldn't believe my will power as we are both everyday smokers. Other then that during military deployments where there was no way to bring it along. Besides those I have been a daily smoker since 1984. I never experienced any withdraw symptoms other then being more irritable.

Back in 1972-73 I smoked a 1/4 gram of Heroin a day, I did this for 5 months and quit cold turkey, never missed it that much.
But heres the difference, I was "smoking" 95% pure from Vietnam. The good stuff back then was under 20% in the states.
You couldn't even shoot this w/o cutting and we didn't know or want to know how back then.
I've done the white crosses that you could take 2 pills and make a 8Ball out of it.
Since I took up MMJ and don't have to worry about being hassled for it I've quit drinking
and by that I mean I drank at least a Qt. a day.
And I quit smoking ciggs. after 43 years of smoking, I was at 2 1/2 packs a day.
So I have to say addiction is what whoever makes it to be, just depends how their head is.

no thats no entirely true about the potency of NAM dope. they knew what they were doing. street dope is closer to about 10% purity on avg. pure dia-morph and ud be addicted in about 5 days dude. if u didnt die from inhaling it first.

EDIT: im not trying to argue or be a jerk either im just saying. lots of people have mis-conceptions of the potency of the dope they used back then.
95% pure dia morph.... no i doubt it. only place u gonna find that, is in the actually manufacturing facilities in places like burma.

or in Norway where its actually a legal drug to prescribe. im just sayin... go look it up on erowid, bluelight, opiophile.... etc etc. :)

sry to get a lil off topic here too...
