Voidlings First Cab

None of the cuts in the bubble cloner have roots yet :( I had bought new micro tip scissors thinking maybe my old pair was a problem.

The cuts put into the flower cab look ok but I probably shouldn't of tried rooting then under 12/12 lighting

They tried playing Christmas music about a month ago at work--so many people got pissed that they cut it in the middle of a song :)

In my bubble cloner the cuts might have some clear yuck. It seems too hold a bit too much too the stem to just be a water droplet in my opinion but could be wrong.

My last transplant from cloner to net pot is dead. I'm making plans on changes to my cloner and only clone within net cups but will wait until a hydro run or two is done first.

Sensei, I'll try putting some Apollo cuts into coco to try rooting for you.

I'll get to work on the writing write-up as I have time. You weren't in a hurry were you? I hope to go to home depot and take a few photos of parts. Need to dig out my spare Fulham ballast too

The bubble cloner was shocked first. There is no sign of roots.

The flower cab was stocked several days later. A couple of net cups look like they may have fine roots sticking out.

In flower cab running 12/12 one leaf has turned completely white, and several turning yellow at the edges. Added in magical at 20 ml for 6 ish gallons and one tablespoon of bloom formula which would be half strength.

just posted cutting pics in my thread... still gonna be a few weeks before time for cuts. i'm gonna let'em all get nice and big then take cuts when i lollipop them. Goal is a QP per plant for all of the cuts in veg. We'll see :)

So I'm thinking I need to make changes to my cloner.

Either more air stones and possibly bigger air pump, or an ultrasonic fogger, or using the water pump I already have and getting aeroponic misters and box frame.

Do you think 49 w of cfl at a foot and half away is too lithe light to clone with? It's vegging the mother just fine but it is closer to the light

Sounds reasonable to me!
I think your idea of diffusing more air into the water is wise (even put another pump), if you do the compost tea thing that I mentioned for you in HC's thread this will increase aerobic activity additionally combating the negative elements like pythium.

Cool. I went to Wal-Mart and they were out of size bubble wands I need to fit my little tote. I might be going into the city tonight and will pick some up then if I do.

Thanks for your input

It should be fine for light VMan.. The foggers can be a hassle, the discs get gummy..
I actually need to get some discs for mine. Airdromes are always the easiest route IMO.

Airdromes? But I have no nutes in my cloner so thought the fogger shouldn't have that problem. I guess the minerals in real water could cause that too.

My air pump is for 10-30 gallons and my tub only holds 1. Don't know how many air stones it can push though

From what I understand 20-25 cfm per gallon is minimum, that can be difficult to know exactly because that is the amount of diffused air in the water not accounting for how deep the head pressure is, the pourous exchange, surface tension of the water, etc. I shoot for twice the rating assuming most the rated numbers are for non variable conditions. I use this on 1-2 gal - http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-AAPA45L-20-Watt-45-LPM-Commercial/dp/B002JPRNOU
I use it to brew tea also. Before I used 2 of those dual outlet ones for 45 gallon fish tanks.
