isn't it strange that 2 societies celebrate the same idea but are worlds apart i find it interesting just like how most societies have their own gods/ origin stories even alien stories
we also live in somewhat more civil times (less blood shed,sorta)

The early christians had to do something to work in all those pagans into their religion. If you look at a lot of the christian holidays, they are directly linked to earlier religions special days.

I totally agree with both of you @kovidkough @hanimmal.
The flood motif is throughout every society and religion for example. I took a comparative religion class that was great and piqued my curiosity.

It is always interesting too to look at the stuff about Horus and Jesus too.
I really think that people needed a way to keep everyone in check (don't murder your neighbors to steal their wife kind of stuff because someone is watching you at all times) and the leaders of the time just adopted a bunch of very good ideas and wrapped them up into the religion of the time. And christianity is just a more recent version of the regions it was developed from.
But it is treading a thin line with people's beliefs.
