My mom would sign the "from" tag as Santa, into my 20's. It was a smile maker.

I still do that with my coworkers. They are the only ones I buy for. The wife handles the little kiddies and her friends. Sister and BIL are always so economically embarrassed, they never want to exchange gifts.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. As most of you know.
It’s always seemed crazy to me that non-Christians celebrated.
Imho Santa Claus was created so hypocrites would feel better.

I try to never tell the truth if it will harm me or cause discomfort to others. I don't have kids, so that is not an issue. But when a well meaning neighbor ask me to go to church, I don't tell them the truth. There is no need to hurt them. If I were to explain that there was once this unmarried Jewish girl who got herself in the family way. And back then, that meant death by stoning, so she had to do something. As crazy as it sounds, she was able to convince her husband to be that God knocked her up. And when the kid came along, she was able to make him believe it as well. (spoiler alert) It didn't turn out good for the kid.

And you are right, if you go against the masses they will attack. Anyone who looks at the history of the human race and Gods will see that man creates Gods in his own image. But you can't tell people that. It's not safe.

Here in Canada us liberals won the war on Christmas long ago, we've reverted to paganism and now celebrate the mid winter solstice while burning the yule log!

I really do try to not get sucked into religious conversations, but I just have to say, I really think that the celebration of the shortest day of the year would have been celebrated for far longer than 2k years.
