Ive learned to appreciate the pure joy of people who could experience happiness from shit that I would be too embarrassed to ever do.

Liberalism is a process, a thin end of the wedge and the constitution has the means to upgrade itself and does. The population has to evolve with it too. Perhaps you never heard of this, but it doesn't extend to bigfoots as far as I know.

BTW women only had the right to vote in 1918 and in almost all liberal democracies, not just America, but Briton and Canada too, black men had the right to vote 50 years before white women did, white terrorism kept many from exercising the franchise though.

The 14th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on July 9, 1868, and granted citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States,” which included former slaves recently freed.
if you wished divorce; your children were taken away and you thrown out of your home if lucky; otherwise they would throw you into an asylum if your house didn't have an attic.

smart women with ideas were branded hysterical.

isn't Christmas pagan, pretty sure the Christians at fault the most for its commercialization, pagans Just want to light trees on fire and have orgys in the woods.
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. As most of you know.
It’s always seemed crazy to me that non-Christians celebrated.
Imho Santa Claus was created so hypocrites would feel better.

Perhaps a little harsh...

. . . . . . . . . . If you go against the masses, the masses will attack. Thats ok. In my book honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.
I try to never tell the truth if it will harm me or cause discomfort to others. I don't have kids, so that is not an issue. But when a well meaning neighbor ask me to go to church, I don't tell them the truth. There is no need to hurt them. If I were to explain that there was once this unmarried Jewish girl who got herself in the family way. And back then, that meant death by stoning, so she had to do something. As crazy as it sounds, she was able to convince her husband to be that God knocked her up. And when the kid came along, she was able to make him believe it as well. (spoiler alert) It didn't turn out good for the kid.

And you are right, if you go against the masses they will attack. Anyone who looks at the history of the human race and Gods will see that man creates Gods in his own image. But you can't tell people that. It's not safe.

What is it you’re celebrating at CHRISTmas?

I prefer the pagans perspective, light concuring the dark.
That’s cool. I’m a Christian and for me, crazy as it seems, it is about Christ.

Humans have been celebrating in the Christian way longer than the pagan way. It just seems to me like a way for non believers to celebrate. Just mho.

I really do try to not get sucked into religious conversations, but I just have to say, I really think that the celebration of the shortest day of the year would have been celebrated for far longer than 2k years.
