Clones were transplanted yesterday, and also pinned down my lst grow. so grow 3 is going well. 3 outta 4 of their seeds are above the ground now so grow 4 is on its way. The 6 plants in flower don't look like they have changed all that much, could be because I am battling heat. Wednesday is day 28, pic update then.

Forgot to mention I am also trying a new soil blend. I am using 40% Lobster Compost, 40% Perlite and 20% Peat moss. I put the seeds in this new mix. Not too sure about it yet. It seems really airy, but when i watered there was no run off like i get with the HF(60)/Perlite(40) mix. I know you need to water compost a lot less, so hopefully this is why.. I can not imagine it having problems getting air with 40% perlite in there.

Hi All,

Sorry i missed the regularly scheduled update, but here we go after approx 28 days of flower. I did notice some ca or mag def. on 2 of the indicas. It is not progressing though, so i am going to assume hitting it with the CA/mg+ and Sweet berry last week took care of it before it got out of control. I hope anyway.

Here is my lsted clone of my biggest sativa, and the clone i selected and topped to be a mommy from my indicas, these are in the vegbox. I concider all the clones my 3rd grow

UHHGGG!!! ONLY HALF WAY!

The waiting is killing me, lol.

Everything looks good. so good i wanna chop it down and smoke it. oh well, 4 weeks of flower at least and then a month of cure... gahh... i dont know if ill make it through a cure lol

So the girls flowering are good. The clones in flower are picking up, i think they are happier with the more light they are getting. The LST girl is about ready for her 16in pot, Mommy-I is growing its 2 new tips well. The little JBs are working on thier first set of true leafs.

Phew, leave anyone out?

I hope my veg box is going to be able to accomodate the 4 little seedlings the the big 16in pot. I think im going to have to stack the pots on top of empy ones to keep an even canopy, but i am not sure my light is set up right for where everything will be..

Oh well, only time and doing it will tell. If its too crowded, maybe ill just toss the little guys into flower way early.

Okay folks, things are going well.. One of the sativas, my most beat up one sativa3, has got either some serious calcium, or light burn issues. I dont plan on doing much about it, if it gets any worse ill just chop it. The star of this show for me, indica-1 (aka double gum), is looking like its almost ready, the hairs and retracting and its nice and crystaled up. The clones in the flower room... well... they dont even look like cannibis right now, but whatever, hopefully in 8 weeks ill be harvesting them, if not oh well. My mommy plant is doing good, and the LST is doing great. Tons of foliage. My little jb's are plugging along, one of em looks a little runty and has from seed but the other three look strong. The plan with these are to top them to 2 nodes once they hit 6, and train them out to be moms/dads. Take clones to flower and smoke, then take the best mom and best dad and keep em, toss the other two.

I hope i can get an AC up thier before we get too far into july, or my third and 4th grows are really going to suffer.

On a side note, anyone wanna guess what i will pull off these plants?

Are you in the Coast of Maine soil in the three lower pictures?

One thing about the compost. I do not know what you use now, but man, it sucks up the water. I can see overwatering easy. In my happy frog/perlite i would put a 16oz cup through and maybe get an oz or two of runoff. In the compost mix (40% COM lobster compost (Quoddy Blend), 40% perlite, 20% Peat moss.) the water just gets obsorbed. As much as 24oz when i transplanted just sucked right up. Its heavier too, so make sure you get a real good feel for full pot without water. Some people go as far as to weigh em. I dont like moving my plants that much as I have a tendancy to smash things in my hands. I dropped my mommy-i the other day, you'd never know though thankfully.

I have been making teas with the Schoodic and the Quoddy composts. They are pretty damn incredible. I love them.
Really, have you been usin them in a grow? The plants really seem to like the soil so far. I am going to keep using it for my mommy plants. I am defiantly goo hempy for my next run though. Plan is 1 gallon pails punched about 2in from the bottom. Need to figure out the waste water situation though. Going to order me up some Blue Planet Nutrients for them too. Very excited. Probably 3 weeks to a month or so away.

I am using them this way. Brew for 24-36 hours. I adjust it to 6.3 now. This is my second tea. 5 gallon pail.

a cup of schoodic
a cup of quoddy
5 tblsp of high P bat guano
4-5 tblsp of alaska kelp or 4 tblsp of Saltwater Farms Fish/Kelp liquid which is a 3-2-2 feeder.
1 tblsp of Humbolt Honey
1-2 cups of EWC

I am going to water with enzymes only the next time and then go back to a high P tea then this tea again. I am experimenting. I use the tea in a 1:4-5 mix with water. 1 part tea and 4-5 parts water.

Nice grow darth man wd, just read through this journal after I saw you post on another thread how you were having problems keeping temps down in the closet. Thought I'd tune in and see how you get on on that score. Nice to see my friend Gandalf lurking here also. Anyway good luck Darth, nice thread

Hey Bilbo, thanks for stopping by. I am very happy to have the white wizard and a ring bearer watching over my grow.

Temps are driving me batty. The girls seem to be OK with it, but the next grow who knows. Just waiting to save up and get the AC up there. I really hate to spend the cash on that when I could really use a t5 , a 600 weather and my blue planet

So jealous !! Fantastic Job DB, everything seems like smooth sailing !

Well, so much for smooth sailing... Wednesday will be 6 weeks flowering and 2 of my sativas produced specious staminates. Not sure if they are pollinating anything or not, but oh well. It would actually be pretty cool if it did pollinate the one definite double gum i have, but i doubt that will happen.

I blame it all on the heat for two reasons.

1. The heat, its been 90 - 100 up there for a while

2. The heat made me leave the grow partition open during the day, and i haven't always been able to close it up, so light has been leaking in from the veg box.

Im not sure i am going to do anything about it. I am just so close to the finish line, and i have yet to see plants actually finish (my first grow harvested early because the plants were dying of a Ca def, which i misdiagnosed as a Mg def. and only treated with Epsom ). So i am keen on just letting nature take its course.

My hand may be forced though, the plants don't look healthy any more. The leaves are all curling and drooping. Its just too damned hot up there. Worse yet, I decided on a vacation instead of an air conditioner, so its not getting better any time soon and i have the 4 clones with 8 weeks to go and the whole veg box still going... Hope they don't all die/hermie on me.

Man I hear you about the heat DB! Cab temps over 90 for me this week too, and it's been killing me trying to keep them cool. Looking forward to a slight cool down next week. Sucks about the hermies, but sounds like you caught them in time to pluck balls. This late in the game any pollinating will lead to those damn small underdeveloped seeds that you can't remove before smoking too easily. Summer indoor growing can be such a bitch.

That sounds highly interesting Gandalf, feeling my way in the Organics field myself and use Biobizz '' in a bottle '' organic nutes, if those ingredients were available as sold in the UK I would mix up some of your tea and have a go, but most likely those Alaska Fish Farms produce are not available as you describe over here. will look into similar UK type blends. PS and I must confess I have no idea what Schoodic or Quoddy are either ????

hahaha, those are the names of compost blends from a company called "Coast of Maine". The names are based on places on the Maine coast. They seem like native american words to me, which many towns and some states (Massachusetts) still have. The Quoddy blend is made with lobster compost and peat (not moss but somehting) and the schoodic is cow manure

I have a feeling that all these words are different tribal dialects for "Stolen by white man"

So a day or two ago I took a nug off of my leafy wierd looking indica #2 and let it dry in a little case o n my reflector. It made a small j and the lady and I smoked it tonight. I got to say I'm pretty psyched. Smooth smoke and a nice high, 2 more weeks should make it a killer smoke.
