It does feel a bit like wet sand for sure. I was basing this grow on a SOG i saw run with 50/50, but he grows in coco now. I am hoping it doesnt hold too much water, but what i like about it is that it will wic up water from the res if the top is getting too dry.

Did you notice a different in the plants when you swapped?

The problem I noticed was the verm rarely let the substrate dry out. IMO the upper root zone needs to dry out fairly well, allowing plenty of oxygen to reach the root system. If the substrate remains too wet it can stagnate and slow growth and development. The rez will allow more than enough water to remain for the taproots to drink and still allow the upper zone to dry out when using 100% perlite.

Thanks HB, its my first LST. I tried to circle it around the pot all the way before throwing it to flower. I got half way there, but that is all I needed. The plant is a clone of my sativa 1 from my last grow which i took in flower. It revegged and went NUTTY branchy on me and filled the pot.

Hah.. My Jedi grow was like that, was a pain in the ass to trim up for harvest but it was a great yield. I think I also got about half way around the pot before I didn't have any more room.

Hell yeah DB, your canopy looks legit, was 4-5 weeks ago the light chage or when you started getting flowers?

I got to say I am pretty happy with this plant. The original hermied late in flower under stress so I am really nervous and watching it like a hawk. My girl is so impressed with it she wants me start training another one :)

Quick update, plant looks great, starting to put on a little weight on the buds. I raised the lights a little, did some LST and a little pruning to even out the canopy and let some air into the center. So far so good finnaly starting to see some resin as well. The plant has a particular smell, i cant place it i am wondering if this is what people smell when they call a plant Diesel.
