Is this the right Pro mix?

Ziggy,
Did you end up using Pro Mix Moisture?
I have some, and I think it looks like a good medium. (but I am a complete noob)
How did it go for you? (sorry for the old thread post :|)

Pro-mix HP ingredients. the only difference is no coir. Promix moisture has less than 10% coir if I recall correctly
  • SPHAGNUM PEAT MOSS (65-75%)
  • PERLITE
  • LIMESTONE
  • WETTING AGENT
  • MYCORRHIZAE - PTB297 TECHNOLOGY
Ya I have some in solo cups right now, I added even more perlite and it still retains a lot of moisture IMO so be careful not to overwater. I’m gonna mix in compost when I make my veg mix so we’ll see how that goes

Hey guys I just bought this pro mix pack

I wanted to know if this will work well for my grows.
Im currently in the middle of the grow and will be transplanting from 2 to 5 gallon soon.
Is this good enough on its own or should I mix it with some more of my other soil?(Kellog's Organic Potting mix, cheap home depot soil)
  • Sphagnum peat moss (80-90% by volume)
  • Coir
  • Perlite
  • Ground Limestone (for pH adjustment)
  • Wetting agent
  • Mycorrhizae
Is there anything bad about it?
I can tell you first hand I used the exact same soil just finished trimming today I used 3 5 gallon buckets I added a couple cups of bone meal some bat guano and Earth worm castings then all I did was water them until flower then I went with ff Tiger bloom never a problem the entire grow just weighed in at 23 ounces

As for water just spring water no ph needed used my meter once lol

It will work just fine. I wouldn't mix anything in with it. This Promix is soil-less, so you have to treat pH differently than soil, so I especially wouldn't mix soil in with it.

That Promix also has nutrients built-in, so don't feed the plants after transplant until they tell you they need it (likely a couple to three weeks).

With peat based products such as this one, pH your water and water/nutrient mix to 6.0 before watering.

I see some misconceptions out there. The red pack Pro-mix has no nutes. I contacted Pro-mix. The HP has more perlite for better drainage. That's the difference between the HP and the red pack. Add some perlite to the red pack and you will basically now have HP. You will need to add nutes, your choice as to what kind. I've been running the red pack [walmart ] for a couple of grows now. I add additional perlite. I used to use jacks 20-10-20 but have switched to Maxi bloom after reading about it on this forum. Works great.
