That was the real purpose of this thread I figure, draw out the Trumpers and have a little fun with their assholes.

Okay, I guess I will add some statistics on guns in America:

We produce around 11.5 million guns per year.
We import around 4.5 million guns per year.
We have around 120 guns per 100 people living in the US.
There are around 393 million guns owned by civilians in the US.
American population is about 4% of the world population but we own 46% of the guns.

IMO, Gun control and background checks will not work, it is too late. We already have WAY too many guns in the hands of angry Americans.

I'm all for evidence base policy and ya don't know what's possible until ya try. Guns are a lot like landmines, the more you have laying around, the more that go off with tragic consequences.

It was far worse in England and Ireland. Some said the same things you do.

They were wrong.

Gun laws work. It takes time, but they work.

Now, the city of Chicago has more gun deaths in the average month than the United Kingdom has in the last 25 years.

I guess we'll see if it's too late if the dems pull a hat trick in 2020 and if the margin is big, a mandate. They have an agenda that includes many of the things I listed in my post above. They are gonna move forward on this, look at the polling data that the OP posted, it's different this time around, the NRA is on it's knees and may soon have it's head lobbed off. People are pissed and want action, each mass shooting only adds to the toll and support for change.
