Here is the last 2 big clone coco plants ( another Motor Breath and Cafe Racer ). I pulled them out for a feed / cleanup and canopy tightening.
While they were out , I figured a good wipe down with some disinfectant cleaner ( fabuloso lemon ) . I am trying to run cleaner grows as of late as I wind down on soil only grows. I will still grow in soil , but coco will be dominant medium from now on.
So , I pulled the drip pan , hot water wash and wipe down , plus Lysol the bottom vents / passive inlet tubing . I do still need to pull the overhead exhaust fan for a deeper clean but for now , I stuck with the interior.
A Swiffer Brush over the QB 304 ( to dust off ) and back to the plants.
These have exploded , and barely fit in tent. That’s why I had to shuffle the other one out.
Cleaned up the bottoms / stripped small growth , took more cuttings
.
( I will Gerry rig a small flouro lamp over propagation chamber on a kitchen table ) ….. * shrugs
to maybe get those cuttings to take.
I also LST them to help level the canopy while I wait for them to transition….. luckily they are still very pliable.

“ Fringe “ plants - KKP clones
I mentioned a couple of plants that are growing in the “ fringe “ area of my light’s ( HLG BLACKBIRD ) footprint - technically just outside the tent door.
Reason being - they have no place in any tent i have running flower. Room that tent is in can be closed off with lights out , but because i ended up sprouting too many plantsSO …. i had to improvise.
This isn’t the first time i let plants get some stray photons this way. Plants were in that QB304 tent originally but got forced out by those bigger coco plants -

Pic is when i gave them their feed today. They sit on risers just outside of tent door. They were big enough to flip tho …. And train. I will tie them up proper in a day or so.
Note : Yes , i will run some new strains after these.

QB304 ( original Quantum boards LM561 ) and Citizen COB rig - 3500k
This rig that I built in 2015 / 2016 is still doing well and is my trusty go to for my 3x3. Even tho those leds are somewhat dated , it still grows well.
‘Only thing , there are no reds or UV . I do have a supplemental “ red “ led ( 630-660nm ) G8 led lamp I occasionally add in , which might end up running along side.
The Cafe Racer / Motor Breath coco clones are growing quickly - they have thrown sex and are setting up budsites and beginning stretch.
I may have to tweak some branches as growth moves forward to contain any wild growth but from pic you can see that ol’ quantum has pretty uniform light spread. I am done with pruning and bottom cleanup , so it’s just going into full flower.
Coco @5.85 ph - Maxibloom / Calmag / Citric acid granules for ( ph down use ) - Hydroguard once per week. ( capful per gallon )
Tap water ( no gas off )
Pretty simple.

Part 2 …. These 2 clones were taken at early flower ( motor breath ) and were at a time ( when had room ) to actually Veg .
But ….
They have no Veg area so they will be shitcanned. You can see the Re-Veg growth on them.
Uniform and healthy ….. I hate fucking dumping plants . Neighbor that grows is a yard dirt guy so giving him these coco plants isn an option.

Here is my lonely Solo Cup Contestant….. in a race of one ……. *Sadness
She is growing in a “ fringe “ area of the ViparSpectra light I am testing.
( Can’t waste valuable photons , now can we ? )
And doing pretty well for a coco cup.
It gets fed when I feed the bigger ones. I am trying to dial in a lot of my grow styles before the summer heat pops around plus keep plenty of smoke ready.

For a “ dated “ rig - i love this this thing. Its like my favorite sneakers or my comfort food of grow lights. Not only cuz i built it , but because its just really reliable. I don’t have to jump on the latest LED diode now being offered or fad light.
I told myself the only way i would “ upgrade “ this rig with newer boards was when any of them failed.
Well , its been about 8 years in. So looks like they will stay.
I have other early HLG boards ( nichia ) and Proto-boards with high CRI that were testers from them. Definitely need to bring those out to play. But this rig has always been my favorite.
Here you can see the stretching setting in and budsites forming. Canopy is pretty uniform so i will just leave as is for now.

I guess they could do that - but they were board reflectors that HLG used to sell ( polished surface ) - they lined up with heatsink holes.

WELL … guess I am officially flowering everything. These “ fringe “ area lit plants have sexed and is beginning to flower.
The structure I made them into is last shape I will do on them. On these fabric pots , I used paper clips with one end pushed thru fabric and loop end for twine.
This way I don’t ruin my pots with large holes.
So , I am just in full flower until I can clear a tent - Any tent
….. to get back to Veg on new things.

I had a issue with a BAD BUD
I pulled plant and looked over all of it last week. Only one top went to hell. It happens sometimes deep within dense flowers ( inner moisture ) . Plant has a little bit longer to go ( based on the bud itself ) so i will monitor it closely. Its too bad cuz it was a nice fat one.
Your smoke will be missed ….. *tears.
No other issues noted with rest of plant and carefully spread open other tops to see if there was some janky shit going on but seems good.

Update :
Flowering is going pretty well , however these original “ Quantum Boards “ from HLG ( 2015-2016 ) are all white-led 3500k pieces.
There are no reds in its layout . So …. I purchased a G8 ( Dorm Grow ) Bloom Booster led some years ago to “ compensate “ these boards before on-board red leds became a norm.
These lamps put out a ridiculous amount of red ( why I bought them ) with a 630-660nm range at about 90 watts. I have 2 of these lamps.
It has improved this original quantum build - it also allows me to do timed Red Led cycle within light cycle ( 12/12 ) and a 15 minute Red only at lights out ( main QB shutdown ). Allow they are mono style leds they have served me well in the past.
This is why I mentioned before that the original QB boards ( now 7 years old ) won’t be upgraded until they fail ( whenever that is )
And would maybe use Diablo boards ( which have red ). But , for now , these are still blazing along.
Motor Breath ( clone ) and Cafe Racer ( clone ) were pulled for some minor tweaking and good runoff feed ( remove salts ).
Stacking is looking good so far too .

Been working on these plants ( maintenance/ minor prune ) and wanted to show what’s up with them.
In the Rear left ( Cafe Racer ) - the original grow - plus being the clone doner. The right side - KKP .
That one is one plant that I am not too crazy about - I has an insane amount of small inner branching and multiple tiny budsites that are a pain to pluck away. Plus it has a high leaf to calyx growth. So I routinely have to “ thin “ it out to help increase air flow thru it and not make it a mold plant.
It does have a heavy sticky dank profile but really hate the shaggy leaf growth. It is a pheno that pops up for me from time to time since I created a shitload of S1 seeds from a grow last year.
Pheno variations have happened before running these seeds on and off - I might have to “ weed “ thru the seeds to find a set or two to cross again for newer run .

They are sucking up their coco feed pretty much daily. 900-1000 ppm @5.85 ph.

They have weeks to go obviously but thought I would see them with rig off .
Spicy / Pepper fruit kind of smells ( with both mixing their funk together )
Happy to get some new strains in here after these are done.
