Took 2 X clones yesterday and overall I was happy with how it went. Will update this thread with pictures of them rooting. Also built two new covers for my in and out fan's. When I took the clones I had to take the plant out of the box so had a good look at it, and I am actually happy to veg it for another 10 days before putting it in for flower as I think it need to get just a little bit bigger. :-)

This gives a slight preview of how the cab is going to be devided in two. However the lighting configuration will be different also the top cab will be sealed.P1090380.jpg

looks really clean I like it. how are you planning on running the lights so you have no light leaking into your flower box from the veg box? I was thinking about trying something similar with a space I have but I thought it would be too hard to seal it totally....

Yea it is going to be tricky but I have a good plan. Part of the reason I wanted a separate cab was to avoid that problem and also to have more space so I could run a hps. Obviously a HPS would be a joke in a space like that hence I am embracing all CFL grow and seeing it as a challenge. :-) The top half will be sealed with more panda film. Basicly when I have fitted the shelf permanently I will start by sealing the floor, by cover it with panda film and overlapping the edges and duct taping them down. Then I will do the same from the bottom up, so basicly sealing the the roof of the bottom part with more panda film creating a double barrier, one from the top and one from the bottom. This will be the most important part of the light sealing I need to do. Then second most important part will be the opening. Again pand film will be employed, staple gun and loads of white duct tape. My other worry was how to check if it is light sealed as I am unable to climb into that space. :-) My plan is to put my camera on filming and then place it inside and closer her up with the bottom part's lights being on. Then take the camera out and check if I can see anything. move the camera to a different position and do the same again. If the picture is all black I win and if not I will hopefully be able to find the leaks and fix it. Hold thumbs because you are right it is going to be tricky but unfortunately I have to have this grow in one space right now. :-)

I noticed tonight that one of my plants are defo male! Removed it immediately. I think the picture shows fairly clearly what I am talking about. The strange thing is that I have not even started flowering it so I am surprised it is showing so early. I actually noticed the rapid growth and space between nodes first and thought to myself, no don't you be male and about 5 seconds later I saw the male flowers. P1090386.jpg

Now I have 1 big plant and one seedling left. There is also two clones in the back left of the cab in a mini greenhouse. The hope is that the big plant is female and she has shown me some female pre-flowers so I am hopeful. P1090388.jpgP1090396.jpg

Today is a big day. I will be completing the cab conversion I spoke about in earlier posts. This will devide my cab in two with the flower section fully sealed (I hope). I will then start flowering my plant and hopefully my clones all take which will mean the start of my continues grow. Stay tuned.... pic's to follow on completion.

Cab conversion complete. Flower at the top, Veg at the bottom. :leaf: P1090411.jpgP1090414.jpgP1090418.jpg Tested the Flower section for light leakage and there is zero. This photo is one of many 10 second exposure pictures taken on a timer to ensure she is light tight. As you can see the picture is pitch black even though the veg section lights were on at the time. Yea I know, to be honest the male does not bother me as long as the other one is female. She is in the flower cab now so I should know for sure in 10 days max. Thanks for popping in :-)

All good man, thanks for popping in. For what it's worth try to make sure that you are using the right bulbs for veg and flower. They really are not expensive so it is worth getting good ones. Read the sticky posts on this part of the forum it is worth it trust me.

Very interesting. Strange that I have never noticed this before, it must be more obvious on some strains. Thanks for the input.

Would appreciate your input.... I seem to have a slight heat issues now, which I sort of expected but it is a bit higher than I hoped. My two cab sections are getting up 95 degrees for about 7 hours a day . I do have decent airflow and so far there seems to be no ill effects. There is not much I can do right now to cool them, as a last resort I will need to cut some more venting and install some more extraction or maybe I will splash and get a stronger extractor fan. Do I need to worry at 95 degrees?

Is there a/c in the room? I sometimes run a line into my box.. Maybe there is a cheap portable one? When it gets that hot growth will slow, your buds may foxtail. 95 is a bit high, try to get it down to at least under 90. Whats the temp outside the box? I often incorporate negative pressure to force the heat to the top and have 4 fans blwing that heat out the top. That will only work if the outside of the box is at least 10 degrees cooler

just keep an eye n the medium too they will drink more when hot
