I joined about 2 years ago and was pretty active until the format change. Then when I came back just about all of the people on my "friends" list disappeared....as most of the old-timers I used to follow. Toke and Talk is about the only real active thread going these days and I'm really not...
To super-crop (bending the tops over) all you have to do is put your thumb and pointer finger around where you want to bend it...squeeze tightly and start rolling the stem back and forth between your fingers. You'll feel the fiber start to break down and soften and that is the time you bend it...
I'm one of those heathen non-flushers. I'm not here to knock flushing at the end of a grow as it just doesn't make sense to me personally. If I feel incline to flush, I typically do it mid-grow to wash out excess salts, and then continue to feed as normal.
One thing I have changed this past...
It depends on your strain. I have some Ghost train haze that didn't show flowers until 4 weeks into 12/12. If you're growing a sativa or sativa-dom things will take longer. I had a Bruce Banner that took 14 weeks to finish.
PS.....don't back off on nitrogen.
I've been strongly considering going CO2 and spending $400 for a good controller, another $100 for a regulator, and then there's the tank and refills.....I would be growing 8-10 plants in a 4'x8' room and still think it's too much money for the return on investment. I suspect that your smaller...
LOL.....I KNEW that would bring on some responses.
It's not my concept about happy plants.....it's RM3's and I have to say that his whole "happy plant" theory works. I have 12 plants in my flower room and exhaust right out to the bottom of my basement stairs......and no bud smell. If I mess...
I've been growing Blue Dream for awhile now and it's my favorite strain. While mine is from the "clone only" strain, the descriptions you've posted describe what I have going pretty well.
I really like the 8-9 week flower time too. You'll get your best results if you veg for 8+ weeks.
I hope we get to see pictures of your set-up....sounds impressive. If you're a fairly new grower, you certainly are taking a lot on right away.
Personally, I would grow out about 20 mothers on your tables just to get a feel for how things work before planting 200 clones and finding out you're...
New growers can love their plants too much.....too much nutrients....too close to their lights....too much watering......too much turning the lights on during lights-off just to look at them some more.
I have been guilty of all the above. Less is more in many cases.
After over 2 years I still...
While I have a carbon filter in my flower room, I rarely have to turn it on. If your plants are not stressed and are happy with their surroundings, they will not smell.
As far as your strain choice, I personally haven't grown any you've listed....but the rule-of-thumb is go with indica or...
Sorry for the typo....that's supposed to read 2' not 2".
I buy most of my grow equipment on Craigslist and have had good luck doing so. If you go with a T5 set-up and are shopping on C/L, be sure to stay away from fixtures that were used for salt-water tanks as they'll be very corroded.
You...
You're fine for as many plants as you want to fit in there. The downside of T5's is lack of penetration and that's not a factor in veg. Vegging plants love T5's. I know great growers that grow start to finish with T5's and have amazing results.
I personally veg plants up to 20" without a...
I'm running G13's Pineapple Express, Golden Goat X PCK, Blue Dream, Pyramid Seeds Tutankhamon (highly recommend), Female Seeds C99, Thunder Express, and a few others I can't remember at the moment.
They are all great strains.
I had to carry a 1911 while on duty and while it wasn't all that accurate (with me shooting at least) I prefer it to the 9mm I have now as it felt like a part of my hand when holding it.
As a half-assed old fart indoor grower I always look at these amazing outdoor/greenhouse grows and wonder how you keep pest from damaging your crops. I freak out when I have a couple of bugs in my flower room, and have had my challenges with root aphids in the past....and yet your outdoor...
I'm chiming in here without reading much of this thread (4479 pages!!).
I'm in the process of finishing building a second flower room and I was on the fence regarding lighting with T5HO's or HPS. I've seen photo's of both Rid's and DCobeen's grows and they are amazing.
I think if plants are...
I remember when I was in the Navy......when we had been out to sea for any length of time and came home....when we finally start walking down the pier we'd all rock back and forth in unison....like we were still out at sea.
