    Calcium Carbonate & CaCO3

The bluelabs pen is slick, not cheap but I feel like I can trust it. I really didn’t like ‘not knowing’ or being able to measure the soil pH when I felt that it was causing issues. If anything the info I get from the pen helps me chill out a bit and be more confident in my process. My first...

    Calcium Carbonate & CaCO3

My mix is essentially a tweaked Coots mix with extra goodies like activated biochar, lava rock, rice hulls etc, run in 20 gal grassroots living soil pots - just about to start my third run in them, going to try no-till and see how she goes. I also make/incorporate KNF preps (too many to list)...

    Calcium Carbonate & CaCO3

Appreciate the compliments :D I have been more curious about sulfur lately as well, picked up form SulPoMag but have yet to incorporate it - I’m presuming that sulpomag and langebeinite are one in the same? I want to top dress with some before my next run, the product I picked up it from...

    Calcium Carbonate & CaCO3

I should also add that I think more people deal with this range of possible Ca I related issues than we hear, it just shows up in the boards as a deficiency that someone is trying to diagnose and they don’t get the results they expect when they treat it as such and add more of what they think...

    Calcium Carbonate & CaCO3

@PadawanWarrior beat me to it lol @kratos015 had been a godsend for me and my Ca issues. Have been following his(your) advice for over a year now, see these same Ca-related issues playing out to a ‘t’ in my grow as well, and much the same, it took me a while to figure that out, far less time...

Rice hulls and the C:N ratio.

Good read - I’d be down to try making biochar out of rice hulls for fun

    Humidity/air flow question

What dis guy said Doesn’t sound like you have a fan with an adjustable speed control, but if ya did, you’d also likely be able to control humidity better by lowering the fan speed

    indoor cultivation

I grew with cfl when I started out - you can definitely get some bud out of it. As other posters mentioned, pick up a few more bulbs and add em to the one ur using. Buy the ‘cool’ ones which are better suited to veg. I used a cheap vanity fixture so I could put a y-splitter in each socket and...

    Mites thrips

Crazy… I’d be sketched about that lol but if it it works for ya then awesome. Just gotta be careful you scoop the right concentration and mix appropriately I guess. I have definitely used iso spray before in veg and works super well

    Mites thrips

Do not spray with isopropyl! You will literally melt your trich heads. Use a citric acid foliar - mix 2-3tsp per litre, I like to put it in a small spray bottle and then spot spray right before lights out if I get em at the end of flower. I also second the vacuum tech, can’t go wrong with that.

    Grow-A-Long with Dick

This girl was always the runt of the four - but she’s been resilient as fuck, handling the Ca like a champ and pumping out the frost

    Grow-A-Long with Dick

I agree with ya - recently got my bluelabs soil ph pen, the pots are all around 7.5-7.9, so certainly too high but I don’t believe it’s causing a lockoutrather the high pH is a symptom of excess amounts of Ca and Mg from my hard well water (230ppm, presumed to be mostly Ca and Mg) - this is why...

    Def / Excess / Lock-Out - What’s ur take??

I’ll take this to heart - I tend to overthink things, this is cathartic for me lol I need to learn to slow down most of the time. I did dial back CO2, lights and temps when I starting seeing the issue, it was pretty obvious even for me that this was at least contributing to the problem. I...

    Def / Excess / Lock-Out - What’s ur take??

I’m presuming langbeinite likely contains Zn as well given it’s a source of sulphur?

    Def / Excess / Lock-Out - What’s ur take??

Right on, I really like how you consider/approach something like this, and your support for this explanation makes perfect sense to me. I know that whatever the explanation, adding CO2 presses far forward on the whole mechanism (explained well by your photosynthesis equation example) and that’s...

    Def / Excess / Lock-Out - What’s ur take??

I am familiar with that diagram, the name escapes me now…but thanks for posting, I can’t say I’ve referenced that in trying to diagnose this. So I’m interpreting here that high levels of Ca and P can interfere with Zn availability, this would fit my scenario as I clearly have higher Ca levels in...

    Def / Excess / Lock-Out - What’s ur take??

If I could get my hands on BAS stuff without having to sign away my second-born then I’d be all over it - we’re I’m located the shipping is just crazy, understandably. I try my best to develop really great microbiology and beneficials in my worm bin as well - I haven’t taken an inventory...
