2024 Election Discussion & Media Thread – Follow All Guidelines

I'm happy with the outcome. I hope he follows through with all his ideas and restores law and order to the country. And yes, he's got a great team with him this time.

Do both fans have to be the same size?

That's a LOT of air extraction for that size tent!

    Unstable pH

General Hydroponics pH Down (the orange one). I'm a firm believer in pH'ing everything. I grow in inert potting mix. I try to get the runoff to be the same as the input. I know that people often confuse "soil" and "dirt" and "potting mix" to all mean the same thing and work the same way. That's...

    Flavors By Region

Limonene seems to be the predominant terpene in most modern, commercial strains. Most of the really tasty terpenes have been bred out of marijuana. There used to be some really delicious blueberries and skunky types of weed decades ago, but it's all gone, now. Thai weed was unmistakeable...but...

    Impure bubble hash

Traditional hash often contains a lot of plant material. It's not a bad thing. The Afghan black hash I used to buy back in the 70's also put out the thick, black, sooty smoke. It was delicious! Really, really pure and refined bubble hash/rosin is great. I love it.....but it doesn't always have...

Extra frame tubing for grow tent?

Yeah PVC is the most cost effective. If you're able to "notch" the ends of the PVC, then you can just pressure-fit them between two of the tent frame poles.

    Does anyone grow perfectly?

No. I've never had a perfect grow. A couple years ago, I grew something claiming to be Chocolate Thai. It grew very well....no problems.....ended up as nothing more than random, bunk weed of no consequence. All the time and effort....poor genetics. But each experience, good or bad, is valuable.

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

HLG makes a big light....not sure the name of it. It's expensive, but they make good lights. Another alternative that I keep forgetting to mention, when people ask, is Apache Tech. They have a bar light that uses the the LED strips that former forum member, Greengenes, was involved with...

    Rotating platform for tents/small grows?

You know how mannequins in window displays are sometimes set on rotating platforms? I was wondering how feasible it would be to apply that idea to a tent grow so that the few plants in the tent (or small space) can get the most exposure to the light I was pricing a few....They are either cheap...

    Do you foliar-feed?

I just did a google search on "the science of foliar feeding" and most of what I read was that the plants DO absorb nutrients through the leaves.....but the duration is shorter than absorbing nutrients through the roots. I couldn't really find anything that was in opposition to foliar feeding...

    Do you foliar-feed?

Yeah, I've always gotten good results without foliar-feeding, but I wanted to try it, myself, this time, and see if any other people were using the technique. I think plants do absorb some nutes through the leaves and they do seem to like getting misted a few times a day. Maybe it's just the...

    3 X 3 tent: Updayday 500 watt light? 400 watt MH bulb? HLG300RedSPec? 2X Viparspectra XS1500pro?

Updayday Updatedate....see what I did there? XD This light is incredibly "fun" (as far as lights can be fun). I was looking at the LEDs in a reflected image (-can't look directly at the light) and they are very different than the typical, full-spectrum white chips. These chips are ALL kinds of...

What to do when stem snaps?

Man, I've literally had a plant split right down the middle...taped back together and a month later, it had a nice healed callous. The plants are almost indestructible when it comes to bending/breaking. Even if a branch breaks completely off, the remaining plant will throw out growth to compensate.

    Do you foliar-feed?

Anyone? I am noticing that the fertilizer salts in the spray-droplets are drying and leaving salty spots on some of the leaves. I don't think it's a big deal. Like I say, I am only spraying during veg. As soon as I flip, then no more spraying. I think the plants are responding well so far.

    Bud curing

+1 for Grove bags. Expensive? Yes, for a "plastic" bag.....BUT, (They aren't regular plastic) and they really work well for long-term storage IF you heat seal them. If you don't heat seal them, then you might as well save your money.

Are you going to press that into rosin?

High tap water ph for supersoil

"Soil" = dirt with living "stuff" in it that creates and maintains its pH -like what Grandma has in her vegetable garden. "Soil" = bagged potting mix comprised of peat moss, perlite, etc. -basically inert components....does NOT maintain its pH. You must maintain the pH, yourself. In my...

    Do you foliar-feed?

Typically I don't spray anything on my plants. However, I am trying a bit of foliar feeding this run. I use a dilute solution of Schultz liquid 10-15-10 during the veg cycle. I am a big Schultz fan. I know it's common and is probably tied to some bad corporate whatever...but the plants seem to...

    Weird Pheno or Issue

It could be a form of variegation. I am experiencing the same thing in a single phenotype of Tuna Kush. The plant seems perfectly healthy and is growing very well....but it has that same type of blotchy-ness. I am going to take mine all the way to see what happens.
