    Fungus gnat experiment #569

I use FFOF, Roots Organic etc. Many times, they seem to come with built-in gnats. It's pretty common, I think. I have been top dressing my containers with rice hulls to keep the top layer of soil from drying out and also as a preventative to gnats. The rice hulls allow water to pass over them...

What kind of bug is this

potato flea beetles, maybe? I was going to say thrips, too, at first....I would need to see a closer closeup to be sure.

Plants grew too close to light

You could try connecting the ratchet hangers directly to the fixture instead of using the "Y" splitter thing to give you a few more inches. Or make/buy some shorter "Y" splitters.

    Jacks vs. Advanced vs. Remo

In the past, I think I started the bloom booster too early and used it for too long. This time, I am going to wait for week #2 of flower, then mix 2.5 grams per gallon and apply it for two weeks -maybe with some CalMag if need be. After that, back to the regular 3-2-1 system for a couple more...

    Jacks vs. Advanced vs. Remo

Jack's 3-2-1 and Master Blend are the only two I've used. Both are great. I use Jack's as recommended for veg and early flower....Then I switch to the Jack's 10-30-20 Bloom Booster for a couple of weeks while the flowers are stacking and then end with the Master Blend 4-18-38 as a finish to...

Can UVC light be used to kill any mold spores during drying?

I happen to have a very vintage, hand-held, UVC light that I got at a yard sale years ago. It's supposed to be for some kind of medical use, but I thought it might work to kill any mold spores that might be in the air or on the drying plants before it develop further, so I have been running it...

2024 Election Discussion & Media Thread – Follow All Guidelines

I love America. I always have. I wonder how many Americans actually hate America. If I hated (or lived in fear of) my own country, then I'd find a way to move to the country where I would be happy (and unafraid). I, myself, look forward to America's future, now. I think Trump and his new team...

    Botrytis under microscope

To be honest, those pics don't show enough information. The first pic looks like it, but some of the others just look like trichome sap or some kind of hair or fiber. I would need more pics.

    Botrytis under microscope

The OP's pics look like the sap from broken trichomes that has strung itself across a few other trichomes. But all the subsequent pics are definitely spores.

    Fan Leaves

Typically, the plant removes those by itself. Those leaves will exhaust all their stored nutrients, turn yellow and then wither and fall off, or be easily plucked off with the slightest effort when they are done.

    Do you foliar-feed?

Yes, I've done the same thing many times.....I'll have to add these for sure!

    Rotating platform for tents/small grows?

I see what you mean about the exposure of the plants not really changing. You'd have to have separate turntables on the main turntable....but now that I think about it, it's a kind of pointless idea. Sometimes, I just get high and think I'm onto something good. Oh well. Back to the drawing board!

    Do you foliar-feed?

Maybe it's just a coincidence and I got a really vigorous strain (Tuna Kush), but I'm seeing some exceptionally-large fan leaves. I think they are the biggest fan leaves I've ever had on a plant. Do I attribute the growth to foliar feeding? I can't be sure. As some have already suggested, it...

Ever trip with a friend and experience the same hallucination?

We were/are like best buddies. We grew up together...went to each other's wedding, etc. Of course, I've kinda lost touch with a lot of my old friends...or they have passed on. But, yeah, we were very close friends.

    Curing

Doesn't work that way, unfortunately. However, there are some strains that smell like oranges/tangerines. I know that "Tangie" is one....I know there are a few others, too. But, even though some strains smell that way, doesn't mean that the smoke will convey that flavor. Light an orange on fire...

    Ground up bud

10 weeks, MINIMUM, before even looking at the trichomes. Pistils must be fully receded and calyxes must be fat. That last week or two of ripening is almost impossible to bear, but don't harvest early no matter how much you are tempted. You MUST create a dark drying room that can maintain 60%RH...

Ever trip with a friend and experience the same hallucination?

So back in the early 80's, I was living in a dorm room with a guy and we heard there was some yellow dragon blotter going around. We located the guy and bought a couple hits. Then we went off to some party and, after awhile, we were both feeling like we got ripped off because nothing was...

Do both fans have to be the same size?

Yeah, I assumed that's what OP meant, but, still....That seems like a lot of extraction power for a small-ish tent. I have a similar-sized tent and I've been using a 4" fan forever. I use mine to pull the air through the tent.
