I have literally split stalks in half (not on purpose) when super cropping....just taped them back together and the plant eventually "welded" itself back together, so I don't think it's necessary to spray a cracked branch with anything. The plant has built-in evolutionary mechanisms to heal itself.

I answered this question on your other thread, but here's the deal.... I'm not a fan of pH meters unless they are the super-expensive kind. I would advise you to get some General Hydroponics pH test drops. IF the pH is too high, then yes, you can adjust it by adjusting the pH of the water...

This was very similar to my experience, as well.

The water going in might be that, but I've had mixes that turned out to be very acidic and the runoff tested differently than the pH going in. It's the pH coming out that I'd check.

Typically, the "clawing" is a sign of nitrogen toxicity. But, too much nitrogen also causes leaves to darken. So, without knowing more to go on, my guess is that you're dealing with a pH issue that is causing nutrient lock out.

It rains at night lots of times. I don't think watering them in the dark would hurt anything. Plants can deal with such things. They are on a different timeline. Two days is nothing to a mature plant. They probably won't even notice it.

Fox Farm is okay and it has enough nutrients in it for a few weeks depending on how big the plants are. There are videos on YouTube that test/compare pepper plants grown in various bagged soil mixes and the one that came out on top with the best results was Miracle Gro organic. I never used it...
