Another Newbie Question: Is it OK to make up a weeks worth of water with nutes?

You never go over 300ppm?? I understand the UC/RDWC is supposed to reduce nutrient requirements and increase efficiency, but with DWC/DIY Waterfarm setups I've done I've run up to 1250 PPM and done quite well. I am chasing over 1GPW still and would be curious to hear your ideas on how to run...

Best Nutrients for DWC??? My First DWC Grow!

P.S. If you're going to use Lucas, get an RO filter. Also a PH/PPM pen will help IMMENSELY! With RO water Lucas 8/16 should put you are ~5.2 pH. Watch it trickle up to 6.3 and then use the add-back formula.

Best Nutrients for DWC??? My First DWC Grow!

Now, when you say best do you mean: Grows the best plants? As in maximizing production? - That would depend on knowing your strain. If you are unfamiliar with the strain you're growing that's a tough one. I'd say H&G Aqua Flakes + Additives. They do a full custom feed chart on their site...

DWC purple stem and ph problem

How big is your res? Also, you have 4 plants in a tub I'm guessing? The rate of feeding may be high, although that would make pH RISE. The larger your res, the more stable your nutrients.

DWC purple stem and ph problem

Potassium deficiency, is often displayed through reddish/purple stems. If they are feeding in veg pH should be RISING. There is a problem with their feeding. If it smells "off" as in stagnant then it is likely low in dissolved oxygen. (DO) For maximum DO in a res/DWC 65-68 is the target. I'd...

6 weeks into flowering just see white pistils,

Do you have a fan blowing over the bulb? Is it an open reflector? Is it a 250w with the ballast built into the fixture? If you're in soil you want a pH of 6.5-7.0. The temps are definitely too high. Don't get a 400w unless you plan on venting the hood out of your space. An oscilating fan...

    Yield one pound DWC

I've done 14oz dried off (2) Dinafem Critical Jack clones I made from a UFO Freebie bean. It was in 2 DIY waterfam 5gal buckets under a 400w LED in a stealth cabinet setup. CO2 supplementation was from a CO2 boost bucket. My setup I'll be finishing here soon is a 2k UC Hydro setup with chiller...

    round 2 led dwc grow

When you listed the plants ages, I presume you're talking weeks of veg, not since germination? If it's from germination, careful with that high PPM.

    questions on dwc/bubble bucket.

Ok. So you have 2 7gallon tubs. Here is two choices: (1) Use the tubs separately as individual systems. -Benefits: You can grow different strains more easily since each plant has its own reservoir and can have a unique nutrient program. Also, if one plant gets a root disease, it can't share...

Another Newbie Question: Is it OK to make up a weeks worth of water with nutes?

If your ppms are going UP --> pH should DROP This means that the plant is using more water than nutrients. As it drinks water, there is less water vs. dissolved nutrients --> IE PPM goes up. You could dial back the nutes next swap. It seems your plants don't want to feed that heavily. I have...

Super stealth miniature DWC LED first grow

Looks decent. It's a bit light on the phosphorous for blooming though. Magnesium looks decent. Do you have access to GH nutes? With that I'd suggest lucas formula 8/16 ratio for hydro. Very simple, cheap, and I've had good yields in hydro using that in the past. Like the little bubbler units...

Just received my 5 x 9 Gorilla tent.. Now what? ;)

I'd throw at least 2k in that tent. 5x9=45sq ft - 2000/45=~44w per sq ft. Usually recommend 50w per sq. ft.

Using 1000 watt ballasts dimmed to 600 watt question

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use a 600w bulb in a 1000w ballast dimmed to 60%!!! It is meant to dim a 1000w bulb. You risk fire or bulb explosion. Also, most if not all dimmable digital ballasts I've seen/sold customers, are 100%/75%/60%. Just a thought - 1000w bulbs are often cheaper because they're...

Please help ! - about to buy my setup,2x 600 hps/mh, 12 plants, grow tent

Here's my 2 cents. I'm setting up something similar but with a UC hydro setup. 12 plants in 5gals sounds solid. I'd put em on a drip, but that's just me. (I'm running 5gal smarties right now with a drip system on a recycle timer.) 2 600s is what they recommend. I'd suggest 2 1ks. Get Phantom...

1000w MH. Is it TOO much?

I've fixed magnetic ballasts when I worked at a grow shop. The way we always found out if it was a bad capacitor or ignitor was to put a MH bulb on a HPS specific ballast. If the MH fired, the ignitor was bad. HPS NEED an ignitor. The plants look like they're much happier under that 1000w and...
