Please help ! - about to buy my setup,2x 600 hps/mh, 12 plants, grow tent

Hey guys i am about to buy some equipment and just want to check with you seasoned members on here to confirm everything fits together correctly in terms of grow room setup.

I am going to be growing 12 plants in soil, all Green House White Rhino. All will be placed in 5 gallon smart pots (12 inch diameter x 9.5 inch height). I have determined this as a maximum efficiency with the space I have, as 7 gallons are probably too big. (I think atleast)

the grow tent I want is 96in tall, 48in deep, and 84in wide.

I also will be using 2x 600w mh and hps for veg/flower

Lastly, I will be getting two sunwing six reflectors. the dimension for one is 32 1/4" long x 25" wide (with reflector) x 7 5/8" high
they will be setup in a parallel design, not side by side (obviously, just making it clear)

Does everything look good? I want maxium yield, and i believe I am on the right track. Do I need bigger/smaller pots? stronger/less strong lights? Thanks everyone!

sir

if u are new u will not get what the web pages tell u for the strain ..................the best u can figure is 1/3 to 1/2 of that yeild ........once u understand the plant better and have a routine worked out then u can .......... u will pull in near if not what the pages tell u

as for the tent u are looking good ............what is your fan cfm ...........are u running a powered intake or passive..............have u accounted for the path for the ducting and how u are going to hang it

thanks for the input, I am going to be running an 6in fan thats rated at 500cfm through both of the reflectors (they are cool-able)
will that be efficent? it is a powered intake

power intake would be a 2nd fan blowing in while the first fan is sucking out

ok look for some flexie ductiing so u can hook them up so the hoods are pulling the air out ..............this is important with hps and mh they make alot of heat if u have a cool tube or a hood system with docking for ducting to suck out u need to use it

inside the tent u are tring to keep the temp below 80 for the plants (higher then 80 the thc degrades faster)

ok great, so how about if I power intake the lights (one intake one exhaust) and then have the whole tent passively cooled? (one exhuast w/ carbon filter) would that be a good idea? the room will be air conditioned aswell via window ac, so should I just passive cool the lights

and what would the best temp be? 75 degress maybe?

Also, what is your opinion on my pots / number of plants setup in proportion to my space and wattage? Anything you would change? thanks!

Here's my 2 cents. I'm setting up something similar but with a UC hydro setup.

12 plants in 5gals sounds solid. I'd put em on a drip, but that's just me. (I'm running 5gal smarties right now with a drip system on a recycle timer.)

2 600s is what they recommend. I'd suggest 2 1ks. Get Phantom ballasts. You can dim 1000w to 600 and 1000w bulbs are
often cheaper because they're more common. I used to sell Plantmax HPS for $30 a bulb for 1000w (600w were $68, go figure)
and have 2 plant max's as backups.

Vent fan minimum = 250cfm / 1000w NOW - If you're wanting to air cool the lights I'd go with 8" reflectors. You can get more CFM.
Remember, pulling air through a scrubber creates static pressure and reduces CFMs. I'd go with ~700cfm if your venting and cooling the lights/tent.

75-78 degrees w/o CO2 supp. - 82-85 WITH CO2

Position the tent in a place were you can vent the hot air out of the room. If you don't vent it outside the room, you WILL need some form of AC/Cooling.

With the VENTING - PUSH the air through the hoods. Hook up goes as such: FILTER --> FAN --> HOODS --> OUT
Running hot air through your fan (Pulling) can decrease fan lifetime.

Don't double fan your light venting. Waste of money. If you have a high enough CFM fan, you'll be fine. I'm going to be running a MAX FAN 8" HO (932 CFM switchable) on a 2k setup.

Id say go with a passive intake on the tent with a Dustshroom HEPA filter or at least a bug screen. They're washable, don't reduce CFM much,
and will keep bugs and mold from entering your environment through the intake. Much better than spending $$$$$ on pesticides and sprays IMHO.

the hoods u have are they cool tubes .......are they hood shapes with glass and 2 holes on the sides for ducting .........are they hood shaped with only one ducting hole

yours ....is long compared to fat....so running them in a line would be the most effect (hood ducting hood ducting fan ducting to outside of the house)............but this depends on the system

if u are going to use a carbon scrubber it is carbon scrubber ducting hood ducting hood ducting fan ducting to outside the house

u want the air in the tent to be sucked tho passed the lights there by keeping the temp low..........the power intake only replaces that air (passive intake is negitive pressure in the tent your walls will pull in and the smell is basely trapped ) power intake ( is possitive pressure your walls will blug out and smell can leak )..........sounds like u want passiive ( on the side of the tent are flaps with a mesh screen .......if u have your air being sucked up at the right side u want to open the intake on the left side )

as for numbers and all that i say u start with something small a few plants 5 or so and go autos.............this way u get something a Oz a plant or even higher with certin strains (biodiesel mass/auto pounder) go soil since it is more forgiving to learn on and auto plants are short they basically can be growen off good soil (fox farms ocean forest or black gold) and u just need to add in some bio bud and calmg+ with just little bloom so those supplies last u a good amount of times ............this is me tho

one thing i will pass on get a old paint can with weight clean it up (pine trim homedepot 98 cents for 8 feet) and some wood cut the wood to about 3 4 feet stand it up next to the can and duct tape it to the can making a stand for a 6 inch ocalating fan to blow air in the leaves tho out the whole thing

advice on the height. 6 plants per 600 watt hps, veg 1 too 1.5 foot tall per plant as long as she has many nodes on her. and she will flower total of about 1.5 to 3 feet total. max light per plant large buds . from experience only you will get from a average clone 2. to 3 ounces. or seed seam to produce quite a bit more, about 3 to 7 each .. any taller with a 600 half the plant no light you will be cutting off the lower part to get all the energy up top. my opinion only

okay thanks guys. one last question, is an oscilating fan necessary? Like what are the benefits
the fan is to move the air insidie the plants .......it is knowen to help them and u need one that moves so u aviod wind burning the plant ................think of it this way do u get more work done in a hot summer day when u got a nice breeze or when the air flow is not blowing
