what would be the best light setup for a scrog grow?

Keep in mind that HPS gives you about 130 lumen per watt while very efficient (and expensive) T5 pushes perhaps 90 lm/w. Ordinary cheap tubes or CFL-s might give you about 60 or so. Always remember that power consumption is just a convinient way for comparing lights of the same type (and...

Root rot emergency - Is there a way to remove slime from the roots?!

Pond Zyme contains benneficial bacteria, not (only) enzymes.

Root rot emergency - Is there a way to remove slime from the roots?!

Nope. Bennies = benneficial microorganisms. Those are bacteria and funghi that eat dead organic mater and by doing that compete with the slime for food. Some of the funghi will colonize the roots and protect them by denying algae space to grow and some benneficial microorganisms will also...

Root rot emergency - Is there a way to remove slime from the roots?!

Helmut, don't use any enzymes. They will make things worse at this time. Have you checked on Ebay for benneficial microorganism products? I don't have any available at my local stores either, but have ordered Great white and ZHO there.

Root rot emergency - Is there a way to remove slime from the roots?!

My advice, take a water sprayer (something like this http://www.waterirrigation.co.uk/media/catalog/category/Cat-Garden-Sprayers-sub-hand-Main.jpg) and try to wash as much slime as you can off. Then cut off roots that are definately dead. Clean everything as much as you can and put your plants...

Why is marijuana a "Gateway Drug"?

Many of the guys I was smoking pot with when I was a 16 year old kid turned junkie. But the reason is not that marijuana changes you somehow and makes you take heroin. Most of it is purely caused by the prohibition. When you are very young and smoke pot, you lose trust and suport of the system...

    warm water causing rootrot

You just need to get a power adaptor (AC to DC) 60W strong and connect it the right way and it should start cooling (if you connect it the wrong way, it will heat up so you'll know). I don't know if the element is submersible or if some kind of water protection has to be improvised. If...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

I had a scare yesterday. I lift up the lid, and find my roots full of brown stuff. Then I took a closer look with more light and see that roots are actually not slimy and fishboning nicely. Brown stuff was easily removed with a bit of water and it turns out to be some kind of powdery substance...

    How To: DWC

From what I understand, water. Your plants consume different salts at different rates, so if you add nute mix, you might be adding too much of something. For example, lets say you start with a unit of P and a unit of N. Your plant does not like P as it is in veg, so it eats 0,5 units of N and...

It would be interesting to see for how many DWC tea works and for how many it does not. People who write hear are mostly those who have problem. I wonder if there is a silent majority using it with success...

Could it be that you're adding too much sugar that is resulting in slime?

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Thats strange. Pondzyme is a bacterial product, mycogrow is I think same bacteria plus fungi. I really don't see why algae would run wild on it. If you say its a leftover, perhaps it's contaminated.
