How to setup DWC system for 2 plants (scrog)?

Separate buckets means possibility to adjust nutes per plant and means one pythium infected res does not influence the other. Added bonus, it's simpler and cheaper to build. BTW. I'm having doubts about the idea of just draining old res out and pouring new in. All the organic waste that clings...

    Is my air pump adequate?

My 5 gal buckets hold about 4 gals of water. If you fill to a similar leve, that would be 40 gal. 0,87 W/gal is quite close to the recomendation, so I think you'd be fine. I'd probably double that because I like to overkill things...

How to setup DWC system for 2 plants (scrog)?

Well, my plan (doing the same setup) is to buy 2 extra buckets, turn them upside down and put my grow buckets on top of them. When I change res, I just pull the lower bucket aside so I can lower the res bucket down, leaving the plant suspended in the air.

How to setup DWC system for 2 plants (scrog)?

I'd get two buckets, start them in just one for convinence and then separate them when they grow bigger (before their roots touch).

    How to help damaged seedlings

Ok, plants were not growing because they were kicking everything they had into roots. Literaly overnight I got from nothing to roots sticking into the water. Tomorrow its second res change time. Since cotyledons are shrunken and begining to die I prepared a 275 uS nute solution. Is that a...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Is it normal for the res to become a bit cloudy with traces of foam on the edges after adding the tea?

    How to help damaged seedlings

Cubes were siting on more then a layer of hydroton, but still they got saturated. I don't know exactly why, people here talk about needing to hand water their plants, but my medium is constantly moist even on top of 6 inch net pot without any watering. Perhaps its because I've covered the lid...

    How to help damaged seedlings

I have started some seedlings in rockwool. Once they got into the system rockwool got too wet and the roots got damaged/drowned. I noticed they were not growing and saw what was happening so I removed them from rockwool and put two straight into hydroton and one into soil. Its day 11 now, and...

    Growing without rockwool

I started my tomatoes in rockwool and it was a disaster. It soaked too much water once it was put in a system (18W air pump is a bit overkill for 5 gal res) and roots started drowning. I got them out and straight into hydroton and they are starting to recover slowly. Next time I'll cut just a...

DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

Noob to DWC here. I'm on my second batch of tea and am suspecting I'm doing something wrong. In my first batch, after 24 hours my brew had some slimy biofilm on the tubes and stone, but this time after almost 30 hours I see no changes. No foam on top, no biofilm no nothing. I can't get my...
