I wouldn't mess with it...it's important that the exhaust from your hotwater heater or heater goes outside your home...it's getting rid of poisonous carbon monoxide. There's most likely an easier, safer way. If you realllly want to tap into it to remove additional exhaust, add a 'Y' pipe...
