7 plants under 400W ASTIR LEDs in Hydro-Aero System

 Dude, no judgement, my tent is similar with waaaay less panels, but it does look messy. Such is the nature of having many lower wattage panels and hanging them with mountain climbing ropes, chains and carabiners, leave alone the LED drivers. I'm sure it IS a bit to manage... And yet...

Just guessing. 24" = Seedling 18" = Bloom One plant, maybe two, depending on veg time and training. Keep us posted. :leaf:

Little Chiesel still 2", second tier leaves are very identifiable now without having to look closely, stem about same thickness as yesterday.

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Not as reflective as the White97 stuff, but definitely good to fall back on. Thanks guys.

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

So I emailed John at VanQ and I guess everything was shipped out last Saturday. Go figure. I'm almost glad you said that SDS, I'm still contacting the NA distributor for White97 film asking for sample quantities and hoping that they don't try to take advantage of the opportunity. Larger...

Going from CFL to LED mid grow

Afaik it might freak out a little and stunt growth for a day, or two, but you'll be perfectly fine in the long run.

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Awesome read, SDS. Thanks. I'm thinking it doesn't matter so long as it's highly relfective? I wonder why all their partners specialize in diffusively reflective materials, although I speculate it's for aesthetic appeal due to their intended fields of use?

Yea, a glass mirror. I'm guessing you think the glass will kill efficiency? I could always just build it out of plexiglass and glue reflective mylar onto it (squeegee the wrinkles/bubbles out so it's perfectly smooth). Any thoughts of your own?

Not at all. I consider it my day job to derail peoples' threads, I understand perfectly.

Kid's got a deficiency. I added some Dolomite Lime and Bone Meal to his water. Right now he's sitting in maybe 2-2.5gal of just Roots Organic soil with no amendments so it's not like I didn't anticipate this a little. Still pretty early on, those are the only two leaves showing much of any...

What led is best value for small grow

Haha. You're right about the bag seeds. I was picking through a bag and found a seed in it so I threw it out into the yard since I hadn't started growing at the time. Few months later I found the bugger growing through some decorative rocks underneath a couple short pines, obviously having a...

What led is best value for small grow

I haven't noticed much difference at any panel height, tbh. One of the things that this experiment has made me think about is since the plant's leaves are so small right now the closer the panel is less diodes actually even see the plant due to the viewing angle of the chips. So I'm guessing the...

What led is best value for small grow

^^^ Those floodlights should be very good for your intents and purposes, imo. Sounds like a plan if the price is right. And I'll continue to update 'til you tell me to stop, lol. >< Little Chiesel still 2" tall today, some leaf growth (she's working on her second tier) and the stem has beefed...

Contacted a few manufacturers on Alibaba about 100mm LED reflectors, and Digikey actually sells the same lens in a 100mm Round platform which looks like it's able to handle the number of lumens I'll be throwing at it. So, it might not be that devastating to my wallet if everything works out in...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Whaaaat? Well that sucks. Back to the drawing board on the lens, I suppose. Different reflector, larger lens, more money. Grrrr. So why is the Red too low iyo? RP losses? Edit - Took another look at the pdf, I'm guessing if the RP lens was 100mm it'd be closer to what I need. Actually, the...

First time grower experimenting with cheap LEDs

Yes, they all use phosphor. The only method I know of to create "White" light without a phosphor coating is using three chips: Red, Green, and Blue, for example. At the moment, the efficiency of RGB LED's is pretty low due to something known as "the Green hole" which refers to the horrid...

Hey, all. Uhhh, update? I don't have much for you guys, lol. Still no word from VanQ. I'm assuming they won't just ship everything out w/o telling me. I'll check back in with them on the 25th if they still haven't contacted me. As for the plants... Little Chiesel lovin' life. 2" tall with leaf...

First time grower experimenting with cheap LEDs

Just the Whites, and maybe the Pinks/Purples. Most "White" LED's are Blue chips coated with phosphor, that's not specific to 5050 LED strips. Have you seen these? http://www.vanqled.com/ledgrowlight/index.asp?bigclassid=49&class=234
