Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Update on the grow. Kid has a few flowers. Not sure what the deal is, he's still technically in veg on an 18/6 period, but oh well. I watered him the other day and saw a burst of vertical growth. I also trimmed a few more dry, crispy leaves. I'm thinking I don't water him enough, he seems to...

What led is best value for small grow

I dig it! I've actually thought about LED's very similar to that. Here's some of the links I was looking at in no particular order. All this stuff is listed by the same seller. They're located in Hong Kong and usually have free worldwide shipping...

That's a really cool little heat sink you found. I'd try a 20W on it, though, I think a 50W might overheat. Maybe a 30W could work, but I'd wanna try the 20W'er first just to get an idea of what the thing's capable of. Also, you'd wanna ask what that fan is rated at in terms of Volts and mA so...

Imo, there isn't a huge curve in that graph, it looks rather linear. I don't see a huge difference in efficiency, I don't think I'd mind running them a little harder. 1.2W, 1W, .7-.8W? It's all good.

Best Cool and Neutral White's, probably, but Warm White? If you're like me and you'd like to believe in the accuracy of manufacturer Kelvin graphs those "Osram Oslon SSL LCW CQ7P.CC 2700 K" buggers are mean, look them up!

I say leave it naked for now, you'll get better coverage and you won't lose any efficiency from the glass or reflections. You should be able to just move the light closer to the canopy if you want to trade coverage for penetration. Imo, wait and see if lens/collimator combo is necessary.

What led is best value for small grow

Hey, no worries, at least you have an easy way to mount the LED now. I was actually wondering if it was even worth the $2, myself. In case it runs hot you can easily remove it and perhaps install it on a CPU cooler. Zero hassle. I have a 50W Warm White hanging in my tent. It's relatively...

Ugh, just found the same heat sinks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Aluminum-Heat-Sink-For-Solid-State-Relay-SSR-Small-Type-Heat-Dissipation-/270959618684?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1673aa7c So when it's for a solid state relay it's $3? So you charge a dollar per extra screw hole and maybe...

Probably one of these, but on ebay.com.au http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heat-Sink-for-20W-30W-50W-LED-/380534842067?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item5899a4e2d3 It looks small, but there's no way to know how hot it will run until someone bites the bullet. Hey jimjim, if you buy one of these, I believe...

Pretty sure I was looking at this one: http://www.cree.com/led-components-and-modules/products/xlamp/discrete-nondirectional/xlamp-xpe-hew Primary peak at ~610nm, and it's a relatively broad peak with very nice coverage of 640nm and quite a bit of 660nm. As a standalone Warm White it's really...

If you didn't mention it SDS, I was gonna, I want more Red outta that one. Yet Cree actually has a much nicer Warm White LED, I was just running through their models and was like, "Hay, that looks pretty awesome," but I forget the exact model number. They do make a Warm White that looks...

Growing Under White LED, Anyone Else Doing This?

Yea, you're Philips have a definite Red hue to them. You've got 660nm's in there (DR, or Deep Red). If they were just White and Far Red you'd hardly see the difference between it and plain White most likely. It's hard to have "too much" Red I think. You can have too much Blue and bleach your...

    Little LED grow experiment

You can have a light with high CRI that produces airy bud. CRI = 88.8 And yet a light with very low CRI can grow dank. *ahem HPS ahem* CRI = ~22 My 2 cents.

I call shens. Dude doesn't know what he's talking about. So long as the Blue's aren't too intense so as to bleach your plants they should be fine touching the leaves. Imo, get them as close as you want, the plants should love the bonus light. This is just me, and I know it's more expensive, but...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

Oh, PF, I think we posted at the same time, didn't see you there. You're right, that should help, but you'll still get hotspots, imo, especially if you try to increase the wattage w/o increasing the surface area of the RP lens. With a diamond lens you'd be able to create something like a 40mm...

If those Philips GreenPower E27's weren't so darn expensive I think I'd be all over them. They look great, though, and the plants seem to just absolutely love life, look at them reaching for the light. Big thumbs up.
